Bad Bunny is a American from Puerto Rico not a Latino

Thank You.  Going to & from Puerto Rico is like going to & from Indiana, we're all American citizens.  I NOT sure what people have against American citizens doing the Halftime at the SuperBowl.

this was one of the clips that show first when you search Bad Bunny on YouTube.  Being sung  in Spanish means a ton of people wont understand a word he is singing about.

The NFL clearly wants to go worldwide so hiring a guy like this doesn't surprise me. I don't have anything against his music. I hope he somehow makes it palatable for an English speaking audience. How he will or could do that  I have  no idea

They'll figure it out... Learning another language ain't rocket science.

IMO, English adapts probably the best to other languages.  The Anglo speaking world has that going for them.

I have to say that I love the outrage over a halftime performer at the Super Bowl, talk about whining, it makes me laugh.

Maybe Lee Greenwood wasn't available to do a 30 minute version of proud to be an American, maybe next year.

Lee is 82.  I am sure they can wheel him out there with all the other old farts.

That'll put a spark in the youngin's beating red heart!

People have 5 months to learn Spanish!

lol  Mr Bunny actually said this on SNL last night . He's been reading our board imagine that

Id say he was being cheeky. En Espanol dicen  "atrevido"

I can speak Spanish somewhat fluently but hearing it sung and slang I'll likely miss half or more of what he is singiing

The stage show will be elaborate. they always are. I'll watch it and critique afterwards

noone I know will want to try decipher his lyrics . If they aren't already a Spanish speaker song lyrics are Not going to be instructive to learning  Spanish trust me

when   I traveled throughout s America the Spanish I heard on Bolivia was what is called "castellano".or pure Spanish .  Puerto Rican Spanish  is described thusly in AI and I quote

Quote

The Spanish spoken in Puerto Rico is a distinct Caribbean Spanish variant, known for its unique accent and vocabulary, influenced by Canarian Spanish, Taíno, African languages, and English. Key characteristics include specific pronunciations, such as the elision of final 's' and 'r' sounds, the replacement of mid-'r' with 'l', and the use of unique slang words and borrowed terms from Taíno and African languages

Quote

The word "castellano" comes from Castile, a region in central and northern Spain where the language evolved from Vulgar Latin.

Usage:

In Spain, "castellano" is often used to refer to the standard Spanish language and to distinguish it from other languages spoken in the country, such as Catalan, Basque, and Galician.
