It's not just the violence, it's the disrespectful talk. They don't want to be there, I am an inconvenience to many of them. They let you know it.

But IMO they should a) be reserved for natural born citizens, b) limited in duration and c) just enough to give you the bare necessities to get by. Rural vs. urban matters because they’re different environments. Rural environments are more geared towards independent living whereas urban environments foster the gang culture and territories.
