Who is “they?”  Also, BPS teachers are on the low end of public school

pay scale.  But I agree that those who want respect must earn it and that the fights, etc. have no place in school or anywhere else.

They as in the student population.  I had a class of 14 and only about 2 of the kids were okay.  The others were just there because you can't drop out of school until they're 16.

You could raise the salary for these teachers by 50% and they still wouldn't do it.  It's not worth being violently threatened for a job...weekly.

It's not just the violence, it's the disrespectful talk.  They don't want to be there, I am an inconvenience to many of them.  They let you know it.

Poor families are already heavily subsidized with welfare snap benefits, section 8 housing, etc.  If you're suggesting they should be living some posh lifestyle at taxpayer expense until they make it on their own, I will strongly disagree with you.   They just become addicted to it and cancel any efforts to break themselves of the culture and cycle of poverty.

Without it, where would they be? We already know that there are more unemployed people than there are jobs available in the U.S.

Sure, but aren’t those higher percentages of the black population as a whole?

That has nothing to do with anything.

If your philosophy is correct, the poor white people in substandard housing would be as equally violent....but they're not anywhere close to it.

That's the point and the point you were trying to make.

If you are white, you have a 30 times greater chance to get attacked violently by a black person than a white person attacking a black person.

And yet, we are the dangerous ones?

I'm all in favor of safety nets in society.   But IMO they should a) be reserved for natural born citizens, b) limited in duration and c) just enough to give you the bare necessities to get by.   It should be something you want to break free from, not a lifestyle.

You have so much wrong information.

I work in HR, there are so many jobs available lol.

The biggest cry from the EBT people is to keep their benefits, they have to work at least part time...part time.  They just don't want to work.

Stop being a victim.

My company alone has like 300 right now.  The issue there isn't enough qualified people who want to do the work, not that there isn't enough jobs.

I work directly in this man.

So a naturalized citizen who paid taxes doesn’t get the net?  And what about kids, citizens or otherwise?.

We share the frustration with the lazy.  I see it as a “thousand pound sisters” problem.  I have a lot of contempt for that.

Where are those poor whites located? I’d bet it’s in rural areas rather than urban ones.

And yes, gang culture is a problem. But it’s not inherent to a person when they’re born, it’s shaped.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics currently has 7.2 million job openings.  Yeah, no jobs open.  My current company has 317 openings.  No jobs right?

https://www.bls.gov/news.release/jolts.nr0.htm

There are currently 7 million people unemployed in the US.

What does rural vs urban have anything to do with anything?   Its still poor, its still substandard living.

Is it not possible this is an assassin from a foreign entity to bring the country to its knees?  Is this too offensive of a possibility since we have no clue who did this?  Seems more reasonable than  declaring war on liberals.

There is no evidence that poor white people are less violent than Black people in similar socioeconomic circumstances   The rate of violent victimization for poor individuals is comparable across racial groups and is primarily linked to neighborhood conditions rather than race itself.

not sure where you’re getting the 30 times more likely stat?  Maybe Twitter?

It's to a troll. You must be new here

True, not familiar with the different identities on the board.

I just wanted to make a point the kid had years of debates with probably thousands of people who vehemently disagreed with him who did not resort to violence, including up to the very moment he was assassinated by what so far appears to be a solo actor. The adults still far outnumber the extremes, and my hope is they continue to do so in action and word.

Wacka,

These are not day-old turds by any means. They are the dried up dog turds that rolled under the barbecue that finally get discovered just before spring cleaning.

Never liked him on GMFB.

Like him even less now.

Arsehole.

He's always comes across as feminine to me. Not surprised he's a fascist.

Your link is data from July whereas my story used JOLT data published this month.

Rural vs. urban matters because they’re different environments. Rural environments are more geared towards independent living whereas urban environments foster the gang culture and territories.
