I remember those days, Pat Summeral and Frank Gifford on CBS and Curdy Gowdy and Al Deragodis (sp) on NBC then Merlon Olson for awhile

A damn shame this 506 site is going to make you pay $5/a month in a few weeks to access the maps. I’m far from being a cheap f**k but that’s ridiculous. I’ll just wait for someone on X or Reddit to screenshot it and get it that way.

From my understanding, the Wednesday (final) maps are still free, but just the Sunday (preliminary) maps and discord cost.

That discord is the poster child of overmoderation.  I get it - they attract a certain type of poster that gets annoying to tolerate, but that Moo guy is obnoxious, self unaware, and frankly more annoying than the participants he shuts down.  It reminds me of early days on the internet when moderators thought that the word of God came from their lips.

 

I wouldn't pay 5 cents much less 5 dollars for access to that discord.  I appreciate the work JP puts in for the maps but it's something the NFL and FOX/CBS should be putting out themselves.  They have all the data.

Yep, both Moo ("moocow1980") and JP are obnoxious, full of themselves, impatient, and over-moderate, as you said. The quality, knowledge, and occupation (industry insiders) of many of their posters is outstanding, so I learned to put up with it and follow the extreme rules, but it reminded of the old BBMB.

100% agree.  There were a lot of interesting posters over there despite the owners and moderators being... pompous jerks?

 

I feel like there's a prime opportunity for someone to move this to Reddit to get away from these guys.  You could automate a lot of what JP does with AI - go have an agent look at Zap2it and figure out all the games that are slated to be broadcast a week ahead of time.  I am sure he has a few tricks or alternate sources he draws on, but those could be picked up on pretty quickly.
