BuffaloBillyG Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Last chance for some on the roster bubble to impress. Cuts coming Tuesday. Who/what are you keeping a close eye on tonight? For me it's 3 things. 1. Some kind of improvement with the pass rush. How about a sack fellas? 2. Safety play/rotation. Can we see someone step up and claim the FS spot? 3. RB. I like Ray Davis but he has had a very rough preseason. 7 carries for 12 yards. Gore on the other hand has looked really solid. I sincerely believe there is a path for Gore to push Davis off the roster with another strong performance coupled with Davis continuing to plod and not find holes. What say you? 1 5 1 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Injuries thats it. Beyond that how do the rookies and 2nd year players perform thats about it. I don't think your going to get any answer to # 2 today and I highly doubt # 3 is going to happen. 4 Quote
Maine-iac Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Would love to see Ingram get some actual reps at CB. As long as he's been on the team minus 2 games a couple years ago he's never had any reps at CB and I'm just interested to see what he can do. Would also love to see us take away short easy passing. If we get burnt deep so be it. Not ideal but I feel like our starters will cover better (might be dreaming) and get to the QB but for the love of god it's preseason try to cover someone if for no other reason than to show you can do it. 2 Quote
Special K Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Where is the Ray Davis hate coming from?? There is no chance he is not on the roster....come on, now. 4 12 Quote
Maine-iac Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I like Gore but there's nothing in 7 preseason carries pushing Davis anywhere 6 Quote
Clyde Smith Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I'm checking on the secondary and defensive line. 1 2 2 Quote

It's not hate at all. As I said I actually like Davis a lot. But his carries thus far this year have been very uninspiring. Gore has, by my eye, outplayed Davis. Being a fourth round pick last year promises nothing. Quote

There’s definitely talent there that could possibly put him in a backup role around the league. With those on the cusp of making or being cut guys, that’s all I hope for in the preseason finale; for them to showcase what got them to the league in the event they are cut they can hopefully latch on somewhere else and carry on their childhood dreams. MikePJ76 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago OMG another fan thinks Ray Davis isn't good because of preseason numbers. Good Grief. I will bet anything anyone wants Frank Gore is not pushing Ray Davis off the roster. 32 minutes ago, Special K said: Where is the Ray Davis hate coming from?? Last week he had zero space to run. 2 1 1 Quote

That wasn’t hate on Ray Davis. That was the eye test. He looks like a slow plodder who gets dropped in his tracks a whole bunch. He had one big game last year against the Jets. He is just a very blah runner. But the Bills will keep him because we go with who we are comfortable with. Very little roster turnover from year to year. Same with a guy like Dawson Knox. He is the epitome of a mediocre NFL player. And we never look to replace him and upgrade the position. (When they drafted Kincaid, they could have brought in another decent TE to challenge Knox) That kind of thinking has gotten us good but not great results over the McDermott/Beane era. 2 1 1 Quote

I just have to assume people are doing bits on here. No way can fans be this ill informed about the game and the team they root for. 1 1 1 Quote

Davis at 220lbs gets the clock burning, they know we are going to run it, carries. He doesn't run like cook but he is a good runner and as important is the fact that he's a good pass blocker and an excellent pass catcher. He had catches in several games that may have been the difference between winning and losing. They were never going to try to get rid of Knox because of his contract. Knox's biggest problem is they overpaid him. By all accounts you could argue he was a better starter than Kincaid. He's a better blocker and absolutely destroys guys after the catch. He might be the most physical runner with the ball in his hands we have not named Allen. I'd love to see Kiincaid stay healthy and prove me wrong. He certainly could do it, but he hasn't done it yet. If Gore was truly challenging Davis for a roster spot, he’d be playing earlier in the preseason games against starters or second stringers. He’s coming in later in games after Davis plays. He’s not pushing Davis. Gore has done some good things this preseason. Bills will probably try to put him on the PS. 1 Quote

LEBills Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I want a win. Washington in 82 was the last team to lose all their preseason games and win a Super Bowl. The Chiefs lost all theirs last year and made it to the Super Bowl but lost. These games don’t matter for the most part, but losing all 3 probably says something about the talent level of your depth. 2 Quote

Hamlin and Cole 3. Rookie DLmen 4. Shavers vs Moore No way Davis is cut. He slipped on 1 play to start the preseason, otherwise its mostly been backup offense vs starting defenses. Stats dont tell the story - hes looked real good at practice/camp. Quote
