or the same afternoon.

The economics of Home Depot doing free same day delivery for like $5-10 items really gets me.

Ain’t no way I’m giving up my Home Depot store shopping. Got 3 within 20 min. (Hamburg, W.Seneca, Cheektowaga). I use it as a ruse to kill time to get out of doing things at home. I’ll kill an hour easy to buy a bag of 4 screws, lots of times I don’t buy anything. I’ll also say this one doesn’t have something so I have to go to the other to see if I can find it. If you’re in the area and see an old guy in a Yankees hat in a candy apple red chromed out Lariat sitting in the parking lot of one of them for awhile, don’t call the cops. Stop and say Hi.

Streaming platforms

They are great, until you lose internet connection! We had a storm Saturday and have not had Spectrum internet since, hence no streaming anything including regular DTV Streaming programming. The wife went to the trouble of resetting everything and then getting a new modem. Nada. She even reinstated the DTV dish for a few channels at least, but of course it’s raining so that doesn’t work either.

All this great technology is great, until you lose it. VERY frustrating!

Thanks. Really appreciate the input. My wife thinks a tour be fine. I see the plus of the perks you point out, the must sees are probably brutal without pre-planning no matter when you go. I don’t like being held to a schedule, or told how I have to go about my days on vacation, but when in Rome….

My bigger problem is this is a one and done trip, I want to see Naples and the Amalfi Coast. My wife would be happy with the Big Three, which would be less demanding.

We did Italy last fall, the advice you have gotten so far is spot on. Naples seemed a bit sketchy, but for a day or two I guess it is fine. We ended our trip planning on touring the Almalfi coast, using Sorrento as our base for 4 nights, we loved it so much, we only did Capri and spent the rest of our time in and around Sorrento. The trains are definitely the way to go. We started up north (Milan to Venice to Cinque Terr to Florence and then Rome, using trains for most of the legs of the trip. Wonderful experience, don't worry about the language barriers, you will be fine.
