Tariffs will be covering it - the deficit isn’t going to be addressed in the BBB.

That’s later.

It’s cute commies suddenly “care” about the debt.

A drop in exports pushed the U.S. trade gap as appetite for US goods slowed amid US President Donald Trump's 'Freedom Day' tariff increases.

In May the US goods trade gap widened 11.1% to $96.6 billion according to the nations Commerce Department's Census Bureau; exports of goods dropped $9.7 billion to $179.2 billion while imports were little changed at $275.8 billion. The official announcement came as sportswear giant Nike warned that tariffs will cost it around an extra one billion US dollars (£727 million).

Schoolyard Games: Chuck Schumer Uses Juvenile Tactics to Delay Vote on Big, Beautiful Bill

Bob Hoge

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) faces a huge conundrum these days: how does he stay relevant as his nemesis Donald Trump dominates the news cycle and his party is eating itself alive by veering ever more into the extremist wasteland? Chuck has to be aware that few if any people are tuning in to find out what he has to say anymore, because socialists like NY Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and wild-eyed Big Apple mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani are now the hot items.

Chuck Schumer, to put it kindly, is not.

But the senator who has been haunting the halls of Congress for 44 years isn’t going to just walk away quietly; no, he’s going to keep droning on about his failed progressive vision and dumping on what has been so-far a highly successful Trump presidency.

In his latest effort at putting roadblocks in front of Trump’s priorities, he is reportedly going to force the Senate clerk to read the entire text of the Big Beautiful Bill and waste an estimated 12-15 hours that can never be recovered:

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/29/upshot/republicans-medicaid-cuts-paperwork.html

“The Republicans decided on the talking point that they wanted to say, ‘We didn’t cut anyone’s benefits,’” said Diane Whitmore Schanzenbach, a professor at Northwestern who studies food assistance. “So instead they’re going to say, ‘Well, we’re going to really squeeze folks that we think should be working.’”

The Trump administration has prided itself on deregulation, cutting rules for business processes throughout the government. But when it comes to antipoverty programs, this agenda moves in the opposite direction, making individuals work harder to prove they qualify for government programs. Federal and state agencies would also need to build vast new bureaucracies to measure and monitor the new paperwork.

Republican lawmakers, White House officials and researchers who advise them argue that the extra paperwork and processes are a way of ensuring that only the truly worthy can access government help.

“If you’re going to be on the public wagon, you have to do something to help pull it, if you’re able,” House Speaker Mike Johnson said last month in a CNN interview, in which he said Republicans “are not cutting Medicaid.”

The bill does make some direct cuts to Medicaid funding, but most of its health care savings come from administrative changes. That’s a significantly different strategy from the Republicans’ attempt to repeal Obamacare in 2017, which would have directly reduced federal spending on health programs, and was thus easier for opponents to attack.

But Democrats are trying. Chuck Schumer, the Senate’s Democratic leader, has said tens of millions of Americans would be “mummified in new red tape.”

Decades of evidence show that administrative barriers prevent vulnerable families from receiving benefits, while simplifying programs can increase use. In the first Trump administration, more frequent Medicaid eligibility checks led to losses in health coverage for more than a million poor children. Studies of student aid applications have shown that programs that help families fill out the forms boost college participation. They can't figure out how to fill out an application? Do they belong in college? 🤷‍♂️

"kills the poor and pays the rich"

Same ol communist/democrat referenda.
Here's a novel idea: stop taking free stuff and get rich.

It's not really that hard.

oh, and stop buying 1200 dollar phones,  8 dollar drinks,

and driving that 45,000 vehicle you can't afford.

A lot of people aren't poor by accident.

Mother in law-they’re cutting of healthcare for millions

Watches Mike Johnson on a show explain that it cuts off healthcare for illegals and simply adds on work or volunteer requirements.
mother in law-oh that seems ok. But why are illegal immigrants getting health benefits in the first place?
