I don't agree with the prior Pope's stance on immigration. I think it is nice to want to help migrants but they went about it the wrong way. By opening the border to EVERYONE they allowed for human trafficking and drugs which is EVIL

Don Novello, who played Guido on SNL, was a really funny guy.

His "Lazlo Letters" were hilarious at the time, at least to me as a kid in high school. Maybe they haven't aged well. Neither have I.

CBP One is a scheduling app for hearings and crossings. It has nothing to do with paying for flights.

Not sure if you are trolling but that's not correct. It allowed flights WITHOUT ID into 42 different airports of their choosing.

This is extremely irresponsible journalism. The sole source for this report is from the Center for Immigration Studies — a known hate group that has previously spread lies about the immigration process.

This story centers around the CPB One App that is designed to screen asylum seekers and provide a way for legitimate, screened asylum seekers to have their applications processed. The U.S. does NOT fly these migrants. They apply and if approved are told to appear at ports of entry. If they can pay for flights, they are directed to cities that can process their applications.

The whole point of this program is to reduce the number of asylum seekers from flooding the border and overwhelming ports of entry on the southern border.

This is pure disinformation. Again, the U.S. is not flying 100s of thousands of migrants secretly into the country.

The CIS is a known, racist, white nationalist hate organization.

You're exactly right about Dolan.  He yukked it up with Trump before the election.  This nonsense is exactly what he wanted.  

@B-Man is a great poster and I enjoy interacting with him.  Seems like a good Catholic to me. 
 

Some of the outrage is fake, some likely real from staunch traditionalists (though after the Church has been beaten down the last decade or two it’s hard to find more than a few of those people), and many will use the meme as a hammer for political gain.
 

As we see here, Cardinal Dolan’s comments about the meme….he’s credible when issuing statements against the meme here, but “yukked it up” back when it was appropriate to ridicule.

No, I'm correct...I usually am.  Generally speaking, a staunch traditionalist wouldn't like Biden for his abortion stance, mockery of the Pope or Holy See, but certainly wouldn't approve of Trump reposting a meme as Pope.  

 

I don't think there's all that much anger, though certainly I can see far-lefty-leaning folk like you would pretend to get riled up.    But if you're really upset, stop dithering and do something about it.  Schedule a meeting with Cardinal Dolan through one of your comic book club contacts.  Write the Vatican.  Because regardless of our differences--I'd be happy to never see the WH repost a dopey meme again.

It's not the Vatican that's the problem.  trump doesn't care what I think.  He doesn't care what you think.  My congressman is a maga and my D senator wasn't allowed in the VA hospital for an inspection recently.  Not much a normal citizen can do in an authoritarian state until Nov 26, if trump hasn't banned elections by then.
