It reminded me of living through Anthony Young's record-setting 27 game losing streak. Found this article https://www.amazinavenue.com/2018/7/27/17598026/mets-anthony-young-losing-streak-snapped-history-new-york. Most of it mirrors my memory except the part that he had converted 12 consecutive save opportunities in the middle of the streak - I have no recollection of that whatsoever. Quote
Mike in Horseheads Posted June 7 Author Posted June 7 CINCINNATI -- All-Star right-hander Corbin Burnes of the Arizona Diamondbacks is set to undergo Tommy John elbow surgery, ending his season early in the first year of a six-year, $210 million contract. O's got lucky they were cheap and didn't re-sign him Quote

I haven’t gone to a game in 20 years, maybe it’s not as bad as I’m thinking. Quote

He's getting no help from his baseball buddies. I would laugh hard when this ballpark doesn't happen. Fisher is a stain on Jose Canseco's underwear. US Egg Posted June 20 Posted June 20 (edited) Padres and Dodgers had a bit of a plunkathon series, Ohtani twice intentionally. But he prevented a repeat of another bench clearing like the one a half inning earlier. …..the announcers gushed like he was Moses parting the Red Sea. Edited June 20 by US Egg 1 Quote

It never ceases to amaze me how folks who have watched the game for decades don't grasp the fickle nature of the game when viewed through small time frames. Neither Tampa nor the O's 2025 season is likely to be defined by the games played this and last week, they are just another chapter in a longer book. 1 Quote
