Here's who NJ Sen. Bob Menendez contacted
to allegedly interfere with criminal cases

NBC News, by Jonathan Dienst

The FBI says that New Jersey Sen. Robert Menendez tried to interfere in two criminal matters in exchange for payoffs — and now NBC New York has learned the names of three people the Democratic senator allegedly wanted to pressure. According to numerous sources familiar with the matter, two of the people were trying to become the state's U.S. Attorney. The third was, at the time, New Jersey’s attorney general, sources said.

Dude and his wife are a real pair. I think Schumer recently called him a dedicated public servant.

It was a cold evening in December 2018, and Nadine Arslanian, the soon-to-be wife of Senator Robert Menendez, was zipping through the darkened streets of suburban New Jersey in a black Mercedes-Benz sedan. She would later tell the police she did not see the man stepping out in front of her to cross a busy thoroughfare.

The crash that ensued just after 7:30 p.m. killed the man, Richard Koop, 49, almost instantly. His body was thrown to the curb just steps from his home and badly mangled, according to the Bergen County medical examiner.

Prosecutors said in those charging papers that Ms. Menendez needed a car so badly after a December 2018 “accident” that the senator, a Democrat, was willing to try to suppress an unrelated criminal prosecution for a New Jersey businessman in exchange for a $60,000 Mercedes convertible. The fatal collision with Mr. Koop on Dec. 12 matches prosecutors’ terse description of the December 2018 crash.

Two sides are definitely not equal in this case

But be the party of responsibility get rid of your own filth, regardless of the side

Absolutely.

Menendez should have resigned right away.

Santos should’ve stepped down before a vote had to be taken to get rid of him

This guy should also

Shouldn’t he have stepped down the first time he was indicted like 15 years ago? If both sides were equal of course

US Senator Menendez charged with obstruction of justice in new indictment

"NEW YORK, March 5 (Reuters) - U.S. Senator Bob Menendez and his wife, Nadine Menendez, were charged with obstruction of justice in a new, 18-count indictment unsealed on Tuesday, adding to corruption charges the New Jersey Democrat already faces.

Menendez has pleaded not guilty to earlier charges of accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars from businessmen to impede law enforcement probes they faced, and illegally acting as an agent of the Egyptian government.

In the new indictment, federal prosecutors in Manhattan said Menendez's former lawyers had told them in meetings last year that Menendez had not been aware of mortgage or car payments that two businessmen had made for his wife, and that he thought the payments were loans.

"In truth and in fact, and as Menendez well knew, Menendez had learned of both the mortgage company payment and the car payments prior to 2022, and they were not loans, but bribe payments," prosecutors wrote.

The businessman who made the alleged car payment, Jose Uribe, pleaded guilty last week to fraud and bribery charges."

Dude needs to go.
