This list is a crock:

No Marty Friedman.

No Kirk Hammet

Hell, even Cliff Burtn, a bass player, was better than half these guys.

I'm sorry, but not putting one of the greatest lead guitarists in all of heavy metal history is craptastic to say the least.

I agree the list sucks, but Kirk Hammett is #11

Doh...

so much for reading thoroughly.

Even still, Friedman's a better guitarist than most of the top 10 in that list.

Listen To "Polaris" and you'll see what i mean.

I know Rolling Stone magazine sucks...

348226

Last month, I'm over at the health club working out.

I grab a magazine from the pile on the table next to the bikes, and I get on one of the bikes to warm up for 10 minutes prior to doing some weights.

I'm skimming through the magazine while on the bike, when one of my friends gets on the bike next to mine and starts pedaling.

He says hi to me, then he looks over at the magazine that I have, and sees all of the advertisements in the magazine, as well as me flipping through it (about 3 seconds per page). He points to the magazine and asks, "What is that - a gay guy's clothes catalogue?".

I answered, "Actually, it's Rolling Stone magazine."

John Petrucci didn't even make the list, even though everywhere I go people are saying he's one of the best guitar players out there.

CW

348226

Including me. He is one of the best in the progressive genre.

And how does Steve Vai NOT make this list? Half these guys were too drunk or stoned to remember what scale they were playing in, yet Steve Vai doesn't even make the list?

I wonder if this has something to do with Ralph Macchio outplaying him in "Crossroads?"
