Nicholas Cepeda, a.k.a., “Melody Wiseheart,” apparently enjoys competing against teen girls while “she” is not lecturing on “cognitive flexibility” to rapt audiences about how the brain works. Some of the parents aren’t so happy about this, but nobody in a position of power has the balls to say no to this person born with balls. According to the officials in charge of the competition, they are simply following the rules as set out. I can’t speak to the specific rules for these competitions, but the rules as set by World Aquatics actually deny self-identified women who have gone through puberty as a male the right to compete. It’s bizarre on so many levels.
