0017
Any news on Taron Johnson? He’s going to be important to any kinda SB run.

They tend to settle in after the 2nd drive. …or do you just think the Bengals were going to perfect game us? Bills went right down the field and were a hiccup in timing between Allen and Beasley away from it being 7-7 instead of 7-3. That was not a great start from the Bills, but it’s not really much different from quite a few starts to games we’ve seen from them this year.

Exactly … this guy is a total chump and a troll really. “ any given Sunday” is a mantra for inferior teams. This is / was a close matchup as the line indicated. The Bills often give up an early score then clamp down. They don’t give up a lot of points overall and are among the leagues best in that category.

What do you think? Can? Absolutely yes. Without question. Will? Dunno. It definitely makes it quite a bit harder. They'll have a real chance, a good chance. But it gets harder. That could change against top tier QBs like Burrows and Mahomes now that you’re on your third string Safety and supposedly Tre White is still not up to his normal great level of play. Also there is a big difference between facing the Bears, Lions, Pats and then facing the defending AFC haps Bengals or even Chiefs. (Although the Chiefs look rather beatable this year)

(Although the Chiefs look rather beatable this year) Bills beat the Chiefs without Hyde. They did have Von, but no Tre White. Chiefs went up and down the field on us early but Elam had a pick on a little pop pass Mahomes tried in the red zone. Bills, as frustrating as it is, have not started games well on defense this year. I don’t expect they would have shut down Burrow and the Bengals after two drives like they did Fields/Bears, but we have a season full of data showing they would start to figure out what the Bengals can do/want to do, adjust, and start slowing them down a bit.
ToGoGo
For those worried about our chances, there is a lot of scientific literature about peak performance happening during times of grief. Think Favre on MNF after his father died. Let's hope Hamlin is stable soon, and don't be surprised if the Bills BLOW OUT their next opponent. And to top it off, every casual fan in the world will be rooting for the Bills to win the SB now.
Fan in San Diego
I think the Bills would have got that Cinci game turned around. I liked the Bills running more and staying on the field more. Cinci's plan was to make it into a track meet kind of game. The best defense is a good offense as they say.

We drove down the field and had successful rushing attack. We were in position to win.
