My Beer Thread

Recommended Posts

I like:

Killian's Red

Yuengling

Amstel Light

Sam Adams (that Oktoberfest stuff is good; thanks Lori)

Chimay and Hoegarden(thanks KRC)

Berliner Kindl

Schultheiss

Icehouse (a good, cheap beer)

Pilsner Urquell (a good, not so cheap beer)

Rolling Rock (a guilty pleasure of sorts)

Capital City Brewing Co's kolsch and amber brews

Stroh's (another guilty pleasure; polished off many a 30 pack back in the day)

for starters.

and...

I dislike:

Pudweiser and its demon spawn (Pud Light, Pud Dry, Pud Reeks, etc.)

Gobel

Schaefer (man, does that stuff taste terrible)

Milwaukee's Best (a college staple, but what did I know then?)

I'm sure there's more, but that's a good start.

I just returned from golf. At my local golf club they now have Hoegaarden on tap! I was shocked and ordered a pitcher for my friends to try at the 19th hole. All were previous BMC (Bud-Miller-Coors) enthusiasts and have now seen the light.

I heard that Schaefer was made from all the leftover beer of many different brands. It's the portion at the bottom of the barrells that is left. They just take it all and combine it and slap the Schaefer lasbel on. That can't be too good.

Rich, I'm here incognito - have been a member for a while - but haven't gotten away from the Bills Zone much until recently.

where on the OBX do you live? we've been vacationing in duck/ocean sands/corolla since the '80s. unbelievable how the place has changed over the years. it used to be a 45-minute drive to get to the grocery store; now there's one within walking distance.

We live on Whalehead Beach in Corolla. PM me if you're down this way, and maybe we can get together for a beer or three.
