Their fanbase also probably thought Pickett would be named the backup, at least.  Instead they named Rudolph.  Seems like he'd go in next, especially If Trubisky is struggling because of the OL.  You wouldn't want your raw rookie getting shellacked as the OL play isn't going to magically improve just because he's in there.

Injury mid game?

Rudolph will go, he’s a vet.

long term injury?

Pickety will start.

A small part of me wonders why Tomlin hasn’t made a swing for Lamar Jackson since Baltimore doesn’t appear to want him. But then Pit has beaten him more often than not. The possibilities though.

Seems like he’s looking for another Big Ben. If it works, it works. But consider me a skeptic. I wonder what a high powered offense would do paired with a perennial defense. Instead of their D winning all of their games for them.

Losses: weeks 11, 12, 16 and playoffs. Wins weeks 13, 14, 15.

Those were all of his starts after week 3.

Oh, playoffs.  Tua didn't even get his team to the playoffs despite playing a win-and-you're-in game against the Bills in the season-ender.

But why do the early season wins not count?  The team went 2-5 without him.

1) Because Baltimore would never deal him inside the division

2) Baltimore isn't dumb enough to give a running back a 50 million dollar per year average.

I really wonder how much Lamar is looking for from them.

You brought up after week 6.  Down the stretch he was no better (worse, actually) than Tua.   This performance started him on the rod to his 3rd team in just over a year.

The Bears assed-in to the playoffs with a .500 season.  The Skins got in with a losing record. That wasn't possible in the AFC, where 11 wins was the price of admission.   Great point though...lol.

I said that starting Tua over Fitz didn't work out so great because it ruffled a lot of vets' feathers.  But Trubisky didn't "ass-in" to the playoffs in his 2nd season and the Bears only "assed-in" in 2020 because he missed 7 games and (again) the team went 2-5 without him.  Why do you keep missing this?

Apparently guaranteed money is the sticking point. Rumor was he wanted it fully guaranteed like Watson. The fact that he doesn't have an agent doesn't help things either.

Yeah I've been hearing fully guaranteed also.  But that seems unlikely considering Murray and Wilson got a new deals and only ~2/3 of them are guaranteed.  I think they just don't want to pay him even $45M/year with 2/3 guaranteed.

lol....feather ruffling.  They went 6-3 down the stretch with him and won 10 games. Better than seasoned vet Trubisky the same year (2020) in his return to the lineup down the stretch.  I've said it 3 times now.,

They limped into the playoffs with him going 3-3 in the regular season.  There's no reason to believe they would have done better. His being passed around since backs this up.

He had one good season.  So did Carson Wentz.  Both are 2nd overall picks taken a year apart and both on their 3rd roster.

Say it as many times as you want.  The Dols missed the playoffs both that season and the following one.   What do you think their prospects of making them this year are?  lol

And who cares what their draft positions were?  That's not up to them.  Wake me when Tua leads the Dols to the playoffs.  Much less twice.
