NY Marijuana Retail Licenses

Another idiotic Democrat plan.  Idiot Democrats are going to give retail sales license preference to "applicants or their direct relatives who have faced a conviction for a cannabis-related offense"   Give preference to convicted felon/drug dealers who obviously sold harder drugs?

What the F has this state and this country come to?  What's next?  Give sex shop and strip club permits to convicted rapists?  Is this really happening?  What a mess.

So how does this work?  The state licenses retailers to sell legal pot.  But is it still illegal to grow your own?  And its okay to smoke pot as long as its from an "authorized dealer".  The use of convicted drug dealers makes sense because they already have a full understanding of the business process absent the need to track down and harass, or work over, anybody they fronted to or trusted to pay later.

But home grow for recreational use will not become legal until 18 months after the first dispensaries open, per the legalization law — so no cannabis window boxes or backyard cultivation until well into 2024. (And, like the medical program, only six plants allowed: three in flower, and three immature.)Jul 27, 2022

I quit smoking long ago but a brownie would be tempting 🙂

Well, I can tell you first hand you just have to be breathing to get our medical card.

That said, no reason it should be illegal. Anywhere.

So should we give clearance to bank robbers to run banks because they are familiar with the layout?  LOL

'Lives are at stake': Poly-impaired driving a growing concern across Colorado

Colorado traffic deaths involving impaired drivers have increased significantly in recent years, including cases in which drivers had more than one impairing substance in their system, the Colorado Department of Transportation said Thursday.

In 2021, 691 people were killed on Colorado roads — a 50% increase from 2011. Since 2019, the state has seen a 44% increase in the number of fatal wrecks involving impaired drivers.

Chef, if you're ever interested that kind of "outside the box" thinking can land you a pretty decent gig as a high paid government official someday.

Well as Attica’s most famous resident Willy Sutton answered when asked why he robbed banks. “It’s because that’s where the money is!”
