If he can make Taiwan Jones expendable AND actually contribute on offense, he’s close to a lock.

Exactly.  This would allow them to keep seven WRs...

I feel like Kumerow is slowly becoming the underdog fan favorite. With the comments made by Rodgers, that spectacular TD catch, (best touchdown throw of the season) along w/ his prowess on special teams, I personally feel like he’s a lock this season.

It's interesting to think about how the FO would manage the situation if (IF) Kumerow is really that good.

If (IF) you want to make room for him, then you have to either trade someone of value (McKenzie, Davis, Beasley blockbuster???) or risk losing a recent draft investment (Hodgins, Stevenson) via a Practice Squad grab. You could trade one of the young guys, but they usually aren't worth much in trade. Kumerow himself may not have much trade value, either - sure, he's been great in camp and supposedly A Rodgers loves him, but his actual resume is what it is. If (IF) he is that good, he is probably more valuable to the Bills as a player than as an asset.

Armchair GMs: What would YOU do if (IF) Kumerow finishes camp comfortably in the top 6 of the WR competition?

I do not get why everyone is so worried about putting Hodgkins or Stevenson on the PS.

If Kumerow is better, keep him - you are not trading Davis, McKenzie, or Beasley - you make Kumerow part of you core 6 or 7 and you put the 2 young guys on the PS.  WR talent has been very deep the last few years - there is a glut of young talented WRs across the league.

Maybe some team grabs them, but then you look at PS and find a replacement if needed.

You also have guys like Gentry that are not as young, but have NFL experience and can go on the PS this year - so a loss of Hodgkins or Stevenson is not a huge blow.

Keep the best players that can play.
