In another post I added the caveat that to be elite you can't cheat. As in sports, cheaters are never elite. And people generally know or eventually catch on to the cheaters. But I don't believe your definition is nearly universal across the MAGA base. What is an Academic elite, for example? Anyone with a higher status seems to be elite or at least above some arbitrary level. And I think the current economy is making the rungs of the ladder steeper.
