Biden's follies

You think pork barrel projects are new?  At least it's in Arizona where most people pay Fed income tax.  Now if it were in Alabama, Mississippi, Tenn, West Virginia or Louisiana (or any of the poor, dumb R states), you'd have a better beef...

According to a press release shared on September 28, President Joe Biden made a big announcement by approving the use of $83 million in government funding from the Capital Projects Fund of the American Rescue Plan to build the McCain Library in Phoenix, Arizona. This cutting-edge 83,000 square foot library, located close to Papago Park, will act as the focal point of Arizona State University's (ASU) future McCain Campus. The McCain Library, which bears Senator John McCain's name, aims to improve underprivileged communities. It is more than just a library. Through the provision of necessary resources, this multipurpose facility will close the digital gap in cooperation with the McCain Institute and ASU. For telemedicine, health checks, job fairs, employment training programs, and skill development seminars, it will provide physical space and cutting-edge technology.

Members of Congress and senators expressed similar enthusiasm for the plan. Senator Kyrsten Sinema expressed her joy at how the library honors Senator McCain's memory. Senator Mark Kelly emphasized the library's ability to spread awareness of McCain's exceptional contribution to future generations. The initiative's provision of essential access to technology, healthcare, and education was praised by Congressman Ruben

they are way bigger and easier to hide in omni bills vs 12 seperate spending bills.

You people are really something else

That wall was something that Trump ran on that you were fapping over as you voted for him

Biden put a little bit of work into the wall and your denouncing him for it

Just goes to show you this is not about policy. This is a cult. This is a Trump cult.

You all made the rule.  Building a wall makes one a racist Nazi.

I'm going to put this nicely John, but you have no idea what you're talking about.  Trump ran on stopping illegal immigration.  The wall was just a part of it.  Saying we were going to get Mexico to pay for it was a way for them to have skin in the game to help curb it.

The Dems OTOH have made it clear that they want unfettered illegal immigration.  But that policy is coming home to roost as major cities have to deal with the negative consequences of having to do something with them when they get here, since border states are no longer absorbing the burden alone anymore.

No one is denouncing Joke for building a small section of the wall: we're laughing at him reversing his policy.  Do you see the difference?

GREAT MOMENTS IN LEADERSHIP:

Biden Disappears from the Public Eye When Crises Hit

At 11:52 a.m. Eastern, today’s pool reporter for the president, USA Today White House correspondent Francesca Chambers, reported “the White House has called a lid for the day, before the pool call time. We will not be seeing the president today.”

Now, the president doesn’t have to make a public appearance during an ongoing foreign crisis. At 2:48 Saturday, Biden spoke for three minutes about the terrorist attacks against Israel, and the White House issued a written statement. He hasn’t done any interviews or press conferences since then.

The only thing on Biden’s public schedule today is receiving the presidential daily briefing. President Biden attended a barbeque in the Rose Garden for the White House executive staff last night.

As Rory Cooper observed, the president could, if he wished, partake in all kinds of public events designed to demonstrate the U.S. government’s support for Israel. “He could go to a synagogue to pray with the Jewish community. He could bring his national security team together for a meeting and media avail. He could visit the Israeli embassy.” But Biden will spend today behind closed doors in the White House.

Exit quote: “At some point, it stops being believable that these are all deliberate scheduling decisions, and it is more plausible to conclude these are the inevitable consequences of a president who turns 81 next month.”

I can't tell if you misread or are being obtuse.

They were getting 'hammered' by the media and American public for our president showing such poor leadership.

Your willingness to excuse Mr. Biden isn't as bad as others here, but that post was bad.

Wake Up, Washington

A second regional war, first Ukraine and now Israel, calls for an urgent bipartisan defense effort.

By The Editorial Board

At least 11 Americans were among the hundreds killed in the weekend attack in Israel, which has begun striking back at Hamas. The invasion, planned with an assist from Iran, ought to wake up both parties in Washington. The world is awash in threats that will inevitably wash up on our shore if America doesn’t get its act together.

{snip}

The President now has an obligation to increase the defense budget and stop treating the U.S. military as a political wedge to feed the American welfare state. For three years Mr. Biden has proposed cuts in defense spending after inflation, even as the world has become more dangerous.

The President can stop the budget games—the demands that every dollar on U.S. forces be matched with another for solar panels or food stamps—and work with Republicans to rebuild U.S. military power. That package should include aid for Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan. It should feature a generational effort to expand U.S. munitions inventories, from 155mm artillery to sophisticated long-range antiship missiles. Ditto for a plan to build more U.S. attack submarines for the Pacific.
