Unreal Ohio gets the TD and XP to win 21-21. This isn't reactionary either but I hope Leipold is fired. I hate his coaching style. Such a conservative boring coach who is way too obsessed with running and often tries long field goals with bad kickers. He's such a gutless coach. There's a girl on our high school football team who never misses from 40 yards or less. Are you telling Lance Leipold can't find kicker? Our 3rd WR is a converted QB this season and they lost their top 3 receivers from last season Leopold is easily the best coach since Turner Gill and axing him would only set back the progress It's not reactionary at all. I can handle a coach having a 2-4 start. What I can't handle is coaches that think kicking a 46-yard field goal with a bad kicker with the game on the line is a higher percentage play than trying to get 1 yard. I could've told you the result there so why can Leipold never see it coming? He did the same thing a lot with Mitcheson and it failed almost every time. 3rd and goal from the 9-yard line early in the game and he ran too. I don't care who your QB and WRs are. If you're going to keep calling running plays on that down and distance then you're overly conservative. Our passing game was great today too. But I see tons of coaches make terrible decisions every Saturday You aren't going to get a better coach right now I will tell you that Rome wasn't built in a day and neither is a program. UB is still an infant and their will be ups and downs , you need to settle the waves This program is LIGHT-YEARS ahead of where it was 5 years ago. It would set back UB to get rid of a culture builder who had one of the hardest jobs in the country Turn UB around
suorangefan4
I don't get how we didn't try another RB screen the rest of the game after the 2nd or 3rd play of the game went about 61-yards to Patterson. That play has been effective almost every time we've ran it this year. Last week we ran none of them. This week we run one that gets a huge gain then go completely away from it again and go straight back to run up the middle on first and second down. There's so much predictability in the playcalling this year.

The reactionary crowd won't like it but UB is a tough place to build a consistent winner and Leipold is a solid coach. Because of grad transfers and the portal, UB is having to break in new QBs and unproven receivers. It's a transition year. He has recruited better athletes over the past few years and LL runs a respected program with integrity. With the new field-house hopefully they will attract top MAC players to UB instead of Ohio, Miami, Toledo, etc.. I'd like to rip Lance about the kicking situation but we have kids with great credentials out of high school and then they flop here. He's an undersized RB with not alot of game breaking speed though everything else is amazing I watched Mack stay on campus for 5 years Patterson will be a 4 year guy but I think he can be drafted around where Starks was maybe a bit later. zow2
Patterson is great. I don't think MAC players declare early for the NFL draft very often. Nowadays i worry more about the excellent UB players wanting to enter the portal and play at a bigger, more recognized program.

That happened last year but not most for UB and it was definitely an outlier James Starks and Bo Oliver and Josh Thomas all guys who played in the league stayed their whole careers Last year seemed like somebody got in Tyrees and the others heads that they needed a change especially because Tyree was so wishy-washy. I wouldn't expect that to become the norm 3 hours ago, PromoTheRobot said: Anyone think L.Mack will end up playing Sundays? I think he might. Possibly. He isn't big and is a one trick pony. Priority UDFA probably the best shot for him. Taylor Riggins definitely has a shot after next season Joey Banks safety I think should get a look. suorangefan4
It's playcalls like that one that irritates me with Leipold and Kotelnicki. 3rd and 14 from the EMU 45-yard line and they run the ball for 6 yards. Only to punt on 4th and 8 from the EMU 39-yard line. If you're not going for it on 4th down in EMU territory then why not pass it? Try to get the first down.. hell you might even get a pass interference and an automatic first down. And now a blown coverage on 3rd and 6 goes for an 80-yard TD for EMU. I bet we would've ran there unlike them. Edited November 2, 2019 by suorangefan4
Gray Beard
So far today UB looks like the better team, except they are shooting themselves in the foot. If they don’t settle down they could lose a winnable game.

Gray Beard
The Buffalo offense has been on the field most of the game so far. That should wear down the defense. I hope the fourth quarter is Buffalo running at will.
suorangefan4
Damn. Nunn would've had a 37-yard TD but he had a slight bobble and didn't get possession until he was out of bounds. UB could easily be up like 17-0 or so but somehow they're down 7-2. Edited November 2, 2019 by suorangefan4
suorangefan4
This announcer apparently doesn't understand the rules that it's not OPI if the ball is caught at or behind the LOS. suorangefan4
Another quick 3 and out forced by UB and the EMU punter dropped the snap. UB near the redzone again. Let's go

suorangefan4
Another 3 and out forced by UB. Vantrease then hits Lefebvre for 23-yards with a great pass. Marks just fumbled around the EMU 30-yard line... EMU recovered but Marks was clearly down before the fumble but refs usually mess up even with replay. Edit: nice the refs correctly overturned it Double edit: TD Bulls! Vantrease with his second rushing TD. 22-7 UB after missed XP (you knew one was coming) UB has 268 total yards to just 98 for EMU and 80 of those came on one play for them Edited November 2, 2019 by suorangefan4
suorangefan4
This is not a recording. UB forced another 3 and out. A long pass play has us with 1st and goal from the 2-yard line with 20 seconds left
