My reunion is next month and I'm looking for a place to stay by the falls for a couple days.  I know NF is kind of sketchy but I'm looking for either a hotel, B&B or AirBnB.  We want something close the the falls and prefer a house.  If I was to go the house route which is what I'd prefer what is a good neighborhood?

Thanks and let the flaming begin.............

If you want to stay in a house you definitely do not want to be near the falls on the American side. Closer to the falls the worse the neighborhood. Unless you like crackheads.

The hotels near the falls are ok I guess. Casino is prob your best bet but you usually have to book in advance. I’ve had trouble getting a room there on short notice.

Canadian side is much better than American side for non drug users

We were there the first week of June, and the Rainbow Bridge is a snap to cross.  Can't go to Buffalo without taking the Mrs to Niagara on the Lake.  We were driving but I expect pedestrian is OK too.  Lewiston and the Peace Bridge are not, due to truck traffic volume, and the fact that the US has moved some Customs inspectors to the southern border.  The US had 9-10 vehicle lanes open when we came back 12-1PM.

The Canadian dollar is on the weak side too.

Niagara on the Lake is a must see. Beautiful

Honestly if your going to the Canadian side, best to stay on or as close to Clifton Hill as you can.

Those are both nice hotels and are right by the Falls (obviously) and right on Clifton Hill

They don't have 24/7 room service. If you want a surf/turf dinner at 3am with a 12 pack of Molson at the casino...you got it.Hungover..stoned at 3 am? You want one of them big daddy breakfasts with a pitcher of bloody mary's..you got it.

Just sayin..

I hope you're kidding.  I actually think you run the risk of that at any hotel.

I was definitely kidding and I agree ... risk is always there and I think I've seen bedbug comments on any review I've read about every hotel I've ever looked into.

I have stayed there and it is a lovely place. No worries on that.

Thanks.  I've stayed at some real nice hotels through my work and you never know who/what slept in your bed the night before.  Price means nothing with regard to that.
