I can see her lyin' back in her satin dress
In a room where ya do what ya don't confess
Sundown you better take care
If I find you beenn creepin' 'round my back stairs
Sundown ya better take care

Wish I was a millionaire I'd play rock music and grow long hair
I tell you boys I'd drive a new Rolls Royce
Pretty women hangin' on me I'd give 'em all the third degree
Satin sheets to keep 'em off of the streets

Hallelujah hear me talkin' to ya praise the Lord and pass the tambourine
Great Jehovah you'll come over
As soon as ya see me boogie woogie cross the silver screen

Almost cut my hair
Happened just the other day
It's gettin' kind of long
I could've said it was in my way
But I didn't and I wonder why
I feel like letting my freak flag fly
And I feel like I owe it to someone

[Here's an oldie from my 45 days that popped into my noodle!]

Gunhill Road, BTW:

Back when my hair was short
I was a white socked sport
Wore pointed shoes and pegged pants
Drank till my eyes were red
Hid Playboy neath my bed
Slicked my d.a. for the dance

Back when my hair was short
I met some friends in court
For stealing hubcaps from cars
Chain smoking under the stars
Played all night pinball in bars
And dreamed about love

We were experts on love
We talked our way all around it
And even if we had found it
We couldnt respond

Slowly I changed my ways
College and long-haired days
Seeing three concerts a week
An honest to God hippy freak
Too busy eating to speak
Except about love

We held rallies for love
But no one knew what they stood for
How many months were they good for
The meaning is gone

Soon when my hair is short
I'll make a full report
Of how I came back alive
And what it takes to survive
Wringing the truth out of jive

I'll tell you of love
More than ever it's love
No lack of faith undermines it
Cause it's the hope that well find it
That makes us go on

Back when my hair was short
I was a white socked sport
Holding beer parties till three
College appealed to me
Eastern Philosophy...

And the sign said "Long-haired freaky people need not apply"
So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to ask him why
He said "You look like a fine upstanding young man, I think you'll do"
So I took off my hat, I said "Imagine that. Huh! Me workin' for you!

I was once out strolling one very hot summer's day
When I thought I'd lay myself down to rest in a big field of tall grass
I lay there in the sun and felt it caressing my face
And I fell asleep and dreamed
I dreamed, I was in a Hollywood movie

And that I was the star of the movie
This really blew my mind, the fact that me
An overfed, long haired leaping gnome
Should be the star of a Hollywood movie
There I was, I was taken to a place, the hall of the mountain kings...

They're gonna put me in the movies
They're gonna make a big star out of me
We'll make a film about a man that's sad and lonely
And all I gotta do is act naturally

Well, I'll bet you I'm gonna be a big star
Might win an Oscar, you can never tell
The movies gonna make me a big star
'Cause I can play the part so well

Well, I hope you come and see me in the movies
Then I know that you will plainly see
The biggest fool that ever hit the big time
And all I gotta do is act naturally

Welcome my son, welcome to the machine
What did you dream?
It's alright, we told you what to dream
You dreamed of a big star
He played a mean guitar
He always ate in the Steak Bar
He loved to drive in his Jaguar
So welcome to the machine

The bottles stand as empty, as they were filled before.
Time there was and plenty, but from that cup no more.
Though I could not caution all, I still might warn a few:
Don't lend your hand to raise no flag atop no ship of fools.

All along the fateful coast
We moved silent like a ghost
The timeless sea of tireless host possessed us
The wind came building from the cold northwest
And soon the waves began to crest
Crashing cross the forward deck
All hands lost

I alone survived the sinking
I alone possessed the tools
On that ship of fools

Does any one know where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?
The searches all say they'd have made whitefish bay
If they'd put fifteen more miles behind her

They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water
And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters

Lake Huron rolls, superior sings
In the rooms of her ice-water mansion
Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams
The islands and bays are for sportsmen

And farther below lake Ontario
Takes in what lake Erie can send her
The iron boats go as the mariners all know
With the gales of November remembered

Who's goin' to ride that chrome 3-wheeler?
Who's goin' to make that first mistake
Who wants to wear those gypsy leather
All the way to Fire Lake
Who wants to break the news about Uncle Joe?
You remember Uncle Joe
He was the one afraid to cut the cake
Who wants to tell poor Aunt Sarah?
Joe's run off to Fire Lake
Joe's run off to Fire Lake

2 hours ago, The Real Buffalo Joe said:

Well it's 40 below and I don't give a f***,
Got a heater in my truck and I'm off to the rodeo

It's an alla man left and alla man right
Come on you f***in' dummy get your right step right
Get off stage you g** d**n goof you know

You piss me off, you f***in' jerk
You get on my nerves

^ "The Rodeo Song" was popular in my bar-hopping days.

Oh, so cold up north that the birds can't hardly fly
So cold up north that the birds can't hardly fly
I'm going back south
And let this winter pass on by.
