Well there you go. The party is looking to replace Biden.

Jeffries is the first voice of what will shape up to be a drumbeat. I wonder why they chose him to break the ice, so to speak.

OLD AND BUSTED: Believe All Women.

The New Hotness? Pelosi On Difference Between Kavanaugh and Biden Allegations: ‘Joe Biden Is Joe Biden:’

“Well, let me just say I respect your question and I don’t need a lecture or a speech,” Pelosi said.

“Here’s the thing. I have complete respect for whole #Metoo movement, I have four daughters and one son. And there’s a lot of excitement around the idea that women will be heard and be listened to.

“There is also due process and the fact that Joe Biden is Joe Biden,” Pelosi said.

“Gotta love Pelosi chalking up these accusations as ‘Joe Biden is Joe Biden.’ you know, ‘DC’s favorite loveable groper everyone knows!’”, Stephen Miller tweets.

That could change tomorrow: “Biden will be on Morning Joe tomorrow, expected to be asked about Tara Reade, I’m told,” Ben Smith of the New York Times tweets.

Since Morning Joe read a “correction” on-air emailed to the show by the Obama administration in 2009, I’m assuming Biden is getting the questions he’ll be asked and his talking points well lined up in advance. And can then proceed to the Obama-esque “this is old news” phase of spinning.

He will be told to get back in line. Independent thought is not allowed in the DNC, especially if you are black.

I have felt  Cuomo would be a very good replacement for Joe.  He’s got name recognition. He has executive experience and many feel he’s doing a good job with handling the coronavirus  But it just dawned on me. All Trump would have to say is:  “Look at this guy. He has the responsibility of leading the state that had been hardest hit and what does he do?  He abandons them to run for President!”  He’d be toast.

I don't know how many people will be patting him on the back as the fallout becomes more apparent.  Monroe County is projecting a budget deficit to this point of in excess of 30M dollars due to unrealized sales tax and government fees.  A number of county employees will be laid off.  Similar stories coming out of other populous NY counties.  Even with talk of reopening May 15 Malls and Casinos plus other large employers/tax revenue generators will still be sitting empty.  More people unable to pay their bills and probable to use crime to make up for the shortfall.

Simply put, Cuomo did not have NYS prepared for a pandemic. When he had the opportunity and a budget surplus 5 years ago he turned down the opportunity to purchase up to 16000 ventilators at a cheap price. He instead had a panel come up with a protocol for rationing the ones they had during a crisis. In other words he set up rules as to who was going to die. He also lagged well behind in taking this virus seriously. It was mid March before they took any steps to even suggest not having large crowds. He's getting along now with Trump because Trump not only bailed him out but has refrained from criticizing his initial efforts. Cuomo now seems to be taking things seriously and acting like a governor should. If only he could get rid of that whiny accent and voice.

There's talk that the state will unilaterally reduce all grants/contracts they pay out to everyone, especially counties, by up to 20%.

Albany is just going to play the usual budget game of forcing unfunded mandates on the local governments, so that the local politicians are the bad guys for raising taxes.

At some point there will be a blood letting over this.  The grape is just about squeezed into a raisin in terms of potential revenue.  I predict that unemployment will reach 20 percent on average in all upstate counties if not already there.  That will place more burden on the remaining citizens to service a budget.  County income taxes looking like more a reality.  Until citizens have had enough and accelerate the exodus from NYS.  Nobody is moving here under these conditions so a net increase of properties for sale and decrease of incomes to be taxed creates a strong spiral downward.  More properties on the market creates lower values and less incomes to collect taxes from speaks for itself.  Prediction : county income taxes will become a reality in most NY counties within a couple of years.
