The revenue the NFL took in last year was 13.3 billion--that's 103% more than it made 10 years ago. It's equal to what the MLB PLUS the NBA took in and it's growth rate over ten years dwarfs all other pro sports.

BuffaloRush
The worst part is that FOX doesn’t have the analysts or the on-air personalities that ESPN has. Camt wait to hear Curt Manafee say “Let’s go down to the podium” while Howie, Terry, JJ and a jacked up Jay Glazer talk draft...ugh

Why would FOX pay for the draft if they: (a) Aren't bothering to send a production crew and are just simulcasting the NFL Network, (b) Don't want to air all three days, and (c) Have to compete for eyeballs with ESPN's broadcast in addition to the NFL Network's I understand it's built into the Thursday Night package price, but this still doesn't make any sense. The only thing FOX gets is a broadcast exclusive out of the deal. If you are the type of person who watches any significant amount of the draft, it's highly unlikely you're a cord cutter and highly likely you at least have ESPN if not the NFL Network. The reason this makes sense is because the world is moving away from block rate cable and moving to select channels. This is already happening a lot with companies like Dish and Directtv, and will soon reach into the network channels where you only pay for what you want to watch. The move towards sports is fox's last ditch effort to stay relevant among the network channels as they haven't been able to stay competitive while producing television shows. Iwas trying to guess what "how much money is TV making?" meant. If you are asking how much ad revenue is the NFL brining to the networks that broadcast the games---I think you only conclude the answer is "more money than it costs to broadcast the games". As of the end of 2017, ad revenue was 3.7 billion, up 16% over the year before. That's a massive increase.
frostbitmic
Does this mean we'll get to see the Bills picks ? If it were still just NFLN/ESPN I would expect ... With the 20th pick, the Detroit Lions select xxx player, now we're going to commercial break. After returning from commercial break, with the 23rd pick in the 2018 draft the xxx team selects xxx player. After that we'd get the obligatory, "during the commercial break the Bills at #21 took WR XXX and at #22 the Bills took CB XXX.

I haven't paid for cable in about 8 years, and I watch the draft from start to finish. Easy enough to get the NFL.com stream. Now I'll probably have that on my computer and Fox on my TV, just for a change.
