compensatory picks counter for 2018 Billsy update.

Recommended Posts

Deadline for 2018 compensatory picks is coming. Bills right now are -5 and +7 so in line for ZERO picks. ZERO to show for loss of very good Gilmore/Woods/Brown. If -5 and +4 they would get 3rd rounder. https://overthecap.com/compensatory-...llation-chart/

All the -5 are going to make their teams so Bills could still get 2018 3rd rounder if they cut 3.

V Duc. R Davis and A Holmes could be cut on deadline day. Would only cost Bills 3.65 million in cap space for guaranteed portions. They could then offer them same contract next day. Big win for players. They keep guaranteed portions of old contract and get another of same amounts. (this has to be not allowed by NFL right? anyone know?)

Question is if NFL allows this why would you not do it? These guys are not difference makers and Bills would get 3rd rounder that could be sweetener needed to trade up for 2018 QB(Darnold?)

For just 3.65 cap hit you get 2018 3rd rounder in projected deep QB class.

You know heartless bastard(Belicheck) would not blink an eye doing this(of course we all know he would have never been in this hole to start with. Look at Pats comps on site)

Would our new heartless bastard (McDictator) do this?

Would you? Seems like a win win for all, players and team. A 3rd round pick(especially in this scenario) for just 3.65 million cap space seems like value.

You make a point. Two first next year sets them up for a QB. A third wouldn't be bad so we could get top QB. Maybe Tyron works out for two years under new coaching, but they will draft a QB next year even if to sit for one year.

I hope Tyron gets us to 10-6 this year. Beat Miami split with New England and at least win one playoff game. You know unless injury to Brady NE will win the division.

Need holmes

May have to cut less than 3 - if, say, Corbin Bryant, among others, signs with a team other than Buffalo. I am guessing A. Williams or D. Carpenter do not count towards comp picks since they were released by Buffalo. But what a creative thought! I agree with the thought process that losing 3.65 mill in 2017 cap space (and may not lose that much if they re-sign for a little less) is worth a 2018 3rd rounder!
