That is EXACTLY where you should draft your starting corners for a multitude of reasons Its the money position and you need look no further then the money Gilmore got.....we know have our top corners on decent salaries and cap hits for the forseeable future in Darby, White, and Seymore Oh....and then there was that matter of that 1st round pick in 2018? The notion that, in a passing league, cornerback is not a premium position is easily one of the more laughable arguments I've seen on this board. Five CBs have been taken in the first round in each of the last four drafts, including one by the Ravens (who you apparently worship) this year. As further evidence of the position's value, look at the contracts recently signed by, among others, Patrick Peterson, Joe Hayden, Josh Norman, Stephon Gilmore, etc... His name is Sammy Watkins Dennis Pita? Clay? Also.....WHERE were some of these players drafted (like Von Miller) Von Miller is a incredible talent that was drafted before us.....sometimes it is just the who was available in that particular draft. The point that I am trying to make is......we were at 10...obviously the mgt wasnt really high on any of the qbs (I was a OJ Howard guy myself) but the mgt instead decided to take the top cover corner of the draft AND a 1st round pick. You cannot really fault them for trying to get value....then you were hating on Zay Jones ealier because he has "narrow shoulders" and "spindly legs" even though he was one of the most productive college wr's in the nation last year. It looks to me like you are just looking for reasons to hate.....your opinion (and your entitled to it) is not believable because your too far south on your views and nobody (and I mean nobody.....lots of A grades coming out of this draft) is in agreement with you. Your premise--that good teams don't use first round picks on CBs--was demolished, and you have no response, except to point to the fact that the Browns pay one of their (excellent) CBs a lot of money.
