Didn't Kyle Williams previously tweet something about "continuity" regarding the desire to keep Schwartz? The offensive players are probably waiting to hear about an OC hiring if Rex indeed signs the offered contract to be HC. I know he's not the favorite around here, but those paying attention realize Gilmore took massive steps in the second half of this year towards becoming elite. In this defense, with another year behind him, I am expecting a bigger step forward. The guy is coming into his own and Rexy will only help.
