  1. I was wrong about the gag order.... ;-) Glad to hear the guys starting to comment postiively on the hire. I think it is great!
  2. I bet the Pegulas told the players to stay mum until everything was final.
  3. Indoor stadium downtown. Forget the retractable roof. (and not all enclosed stadiums are domes.....I hate that word!)
  4. I think Schwartz would do great with a fresh start here in Buffalo. People learn from their mistakes. He has connections and could bring in someone good to run the offense. His players love him and it seems he likes it in Buffalo. There would be less of a shake up and he is young enough to possibly be here a while. Get 'er done, Terry! And do it soon....there is lots to do this off season!
  5. I agree, Yolo. I would love Polian to come in as a consultant to evaluate coaching staff and draft/trade/free agent strategy. He would be a great mentor to Whaley, who I feel is a potentially great general manager. The Bills would be foolish to let him go.
  6. For this Bills fan in Michigan, Detroit would be great!
  7. Think about it, Crossman was Schwartz' special teams coach in Detroit, then left to be with Marrone in Buffalo. I am sure he has kept in contact with him, then when Schwartz lost his job and the openning happened in Buffalo, phones were ringing...
  8. Buffalo native. (Lancaster, actually) and Iowa grad here..... I love James Morris, too. I feel he will rise in stock through the combine, and others will see what he has to offer. Great kid. And IowaBillsFan4Life.....Chandler AND Moaki....can you believe it! I hope both stick on the Bills. Go Hawks! Go Bills!
  9. Maybe he is being asked to be on the staff of one of the new hires and asked to be released so he can pursue that....
  10. I am a Buffalo native and former Iowa athlete myself...ages ago. I have watched probably every game Marvin McNutt has played......I would LOVE to have him on the Bills. he does not have great speed.....I see him as more of a Greg Jennings type receiver......solid routes, great hands, smart player. Go Bills Go Hawks! That said...he may be available in the third round. Oh. And Reilly Reiff is good, but not the number ten pick in the draft.
  11. Hoping to come in from Michigan....Don't have tickets yet, but thinking that we can pick some up rather cheap. The ones on Stubhub are pricy right now. Go Bills!!!!!! The game is Saturday evening, right? August 13?
  12. Thanks. Yes, I think I am going to wait to buy tickets...Not sure if I want to wait until the day of (I am coming in from Michigan and have a hotel reservation...) but I know I don't think I will have to pay face value. We'll see how things shake out. Go Bills!
  13. Lifetime Bills fan out in the midwest..... Do you all think the preseason game at Soldier Field will happen? How much should I expect to have to pay for tickets to a preseason game in Chicago?
  14. Hey! I'm a Buffalo native and an Iowa grad....I thought I was the only one with that combo! I had the same reservations about all the Bulaga talk...I love the guy, but never saw "#9 pick" on him. So glad to have Calloway....wish we had Angerer, too! (Next year, Claibourne!!!) Go Hawks, Go Bills!
  15. Yeah, I didn't want to cause a panic for those not familiar with The Onion.... This article ranks up there with the on on Wes Welker in the hospital, ticking everyone off....too funny.
  16. Hilarious article from The Onion.....the Bills even getting a mention in the last paragraph! http://www.theonion.com/articles/longstand...lminates,17306/
  17. [ Inside linebackers 1 Rolando McClain* Alabama Height: 6-4. Weight: 256 (3-4 experience) 2 Brandon Spikes Florida Height: 6-3. Weight: 256 (no system info.) 3 Sean Lee Penn State Height: 6-2. Weight: 236 (no system info.) 4 Pat Angerer Iowa Height: 6-1. Weight: 235 (4-3 middle linebacker, Gotta love the name. ) 5 Darryl Sharpton Miami (Fla.) Height: 6-0. Weight: 229 (no system info.) Angerer is a player. Every game this year he was all over the field, and he can really hit. And yes, it's an AWESOME name!
  18. As an Iowa alum and huge fan, I'd love to have Bulaga on the Bills, but I'm getting a little concerned about taking him with #9. Check out this thread from a Hawkeye forum: http://www.hawkeyenation.com/forum/footbal...rops-draft.html
  19. Last week during the games I had a message on my old receiver upstairs that said that I'd need to upgrade to a new reciever for the following week of Sunday Ticket. We called and they sent us a new one by Thursday.
  20. Hey Steve! I was in town as well over the weekend....working on my parent's house. I never had a chance to head down to the festivities in Lancaster. Too bad I missed it. I did bring some pierogi's home and had them last night! Hope all is well... Anne
  21. I have a Nate Kaeding Chargers jersey because I knew him when he was in high school. I was his physics teacher and taught him all about the science of projectiles! He was a great kid and I'm sure still a quality person. It's been fun watching his career progress from star high school athlete to college to pro.
  22. From the ESPN article: Aplington-Parkersburg is the alma mater of four current NFL players -- Casey Wiegmann of the Denver Broncos; Jared DeVries of the Detroit Lions; Brad Meester of the Jacksonville Jaguars; and Aaron Kampman of the Green Bay Packers. All played for Thomas. Ed Thomas had been named National HS coach of the year, and is probably the most well-regarded HS coach in the state of Iowa. His record was 292-84 in 37 seasons, but he apparently was loved and honored by all around him. Just shocking.... Here's another article with more information: http://www.desmoinesregister.com/article/2...theme=ED_THOMAS
  23. I had to jump in this thread... I was Nate Kaeding's physics teacher when he was in high school in Iowa City. He was a great kid, and had one of the most amazing athletic careers I've ever heard of, specifically in his senior year... He was the kicker/punter on the football team that won the large schools state title. He was the starting point guard (after healing his broken collar bone that he got in the pile on in the state title football game) on the state champion basketball team. He was the leading scorer on the state champion soccer team (plays in the spring in Iowa). Three state championships in one year, and Nate had a major hand in all of them. He isn't real big, but he is a very good athlete. He also has one of the quickest wits I've ever seen....Pretty funny. He'd give me a hard time when I wore my Flutie jersey to class. I've really enjoyed watching his career, but I hope he DOES miss some tomorrow! Go Bills! (Sorry, Nate!)
