dave mcbride Posted January 24, 2005 Share Posted January 24, 2005 he's great when healthy, and while he has been hurt a lot lately, it's not like we would be signing him for the long term. he won't be back with the raiders by all accounts. he's a big step up from bledsoe, and his game isn't terribly different from losman's as far as i can tell. how about this plan: dump bledsoe and pick up gannon. trade henry for a third resign jennings let pat w go - i'd love to see him stay, but DTs like him are so valuable and hard to find. i imagine he'll get a really big offer from someone. use the second rd pick on an outside LB use the 2 3rds on a guard/center and a running back use the 4th/5th to go after safeties/tight ends Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He should know about cold. Downstate people may like to pretend that we have this good climate, but I have been shoveling for 2 days. My wife shoveled for 1/2 hour. All seem to be assuming that all of these free-agent QB's, and free-agent QB's to be, will be frothing at the mouth to come and help JP Losman take their job from them. If Garcia does not stay in Clevland, he will end up in Detroit with his friend, Steve Mariucci. If Holcomb thinks that he is good enough to be an NFL starter, than god love him, but he is flat out awful...Couch may realize that he has a carreer as an NFL backup at this point, but don't forget, he couldn't even make the Packers roster, on team that was desperate for a back-up who would have very little chance of playing, given that Favre never misses a snap. Now, if we didn't already have a vetran QB, with lots of mileage under contract (that would be Drew Bledsoe!), Gannon might make sense. I use the term "might" very loosely. He is coming off a serious injury, and is pretty old. I heard somewhere along the regular season, that it was unlikely that Gannon would get a clean bill of health, and had visited three different spinal specialists, all whom strongly recommended that he retire... I have said it once, I will say it again, Drew Bledsoe is the best choice for the Bills (with the pay cut) for 2005, and Bledsoe will realize that the Bills are the best choice for him. He is not going anywhere next season! He is going to have to battle for the No. 1 job with Losman, and whoever performs better will get the job.
