have absolutely loved Vikings from the beginning. Love. It.

nerd alert: have always been intrigued by the actual Vikings and learned even more about them during a trip to Ireland a few years back. it's absolutely fascinating how this rag-tag civilization was so ahead of its time when it came to exploring by, essentially, necessity.

Awesome episode last night. Great battle scenes. King Ecbert's brilliant political strategy. Lagertha just being sexy as usual (she makes me wish it was on HBO where they could show her taking a jiggle test :flirt:). Every time I think I have a read on Floki there is something that makes me question it. I love how this show plays the bait and switch. All of the foreshadowing is leading us to believe that Horik and Floki are going to betray Ragnar by killing Bjorn. My theory is that they're setting that up so we don't see what is really coming, which is Floki gaining Horik's trust just to betray him. I love this show!

Wow. What an awesome finale! The worst part about this episode is that it is the last one we get for nearly a year. Thankfully, it was picked up for season 3. Ragnar Lothbrok!

 + 1

they kept us guessing on Floki,

the mushroom bit was killer,

sneaking up on Bjorn getting laid and then yanking his sword

and even Siggy was in on the deception. good for her

All hail King Ragnar

so I have a couple of questions, and it looks like we are not worrying about spoilers

1) Did Horik's son not get killed? If not( what appered to me), why do you kill his daughters but not his son?

2) Why did Siggy leave Rollo to defend himself? I am lost on that one, maybe someone can help fill in what i am missing

3) i was somewhat lost on Flokis reaction to seeing his daughter..someone explain that whole thing be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I am getting old and this is one of the few shows i watch with captions on, but think sometimes i still miss things.

1. He was not shown being killed. Now whether they left him alive or took him outside and killed him I cannot say, but I highly doubt they left him alive.

2. That one is puzzling. Maybe to shock him into fending for himself and stop feeling sorry for himself. I don't know. Siggy had to play her part in the ruse, but it seems that Ragnar could have posted a guard or two.

3. He was happy to see his daughter, but needed Helga to be far away from what was about to go down.

Let me try.

(1) They didn't kill him inside, I believe he was escorted out of the door. (though it was dark and gloomy) another Blood Eagle or Siggy wanted revenge.

as to his daughters.... people were killed, so who were the women (was it) Bjorn told to go?

(2) Siggy may have don that because it gave him a chance to die a warriors death and a trip to Valhalla. dying in bed won't get you there. And to prove to him if he survived that he is worth something.

(3) Floki's reaction was weird. all I can think of was he wanted her out of the way of the bloodshed to come (that's 2 similar assumptions)
