Dude, you ever go to a Def Leppard concert?  TONS of hot chicks - willing and ready.  Compare that to the average Priest or Maiden show - 3 biker chicks just outta da joint...  :P

Not just the best debut ever, but the best album ever.

Thankfully they didn't release Garage Flower in 1985.

I saw Def Leppard in NC a few years ago. They played a free show in the walmart parking lot to promote their new album. I talked to a group of girls that drove all the way down from Ohio to see them. Lots of hot girls.

These are some good choices! Let me add "Rattlesnakes" by Lloyd Cole and the Commotions.

good album but Crime of the Century is actually their first album. My vote goes for Joe Jackson, Look Sharp. Three instant classics including Sunday Papers, Is She Really Going Out With Him, and Got the Time. Runner-up going to Iron Maiden.

Neither was their first. They did two albums, "Supertramp" and "Indelibly Stamped" financed by some eccentric dude. Neither was very notable. COTC was the first album they had to stand on their own, and it was brilliant.

Nice list. I count 13 of those in my vinyl collection. The 13 older ones. From the 60's both the Lefte Banke intro album and the Moby Grape album should garner votes.

Great choice, though I'm suprised to see it on an American football message board. I didn't think they were that well known in the US.

I'd add Tom McRae's self-titled debut album to the list - it's pretty obscure but well worth a listen.
