Here are some others that haven't been mentioned yet: Jesus and Mary Chain, Psychocandy De La Soul, 3 Feet High and Rising MC5, Kick Out the Jams Kate Bush, The Kick Inside Joy Division, Unknown Pleasures The Wedding Present, George Best Patti Smith, Horses Dexy's Midnight Runners, Searching for the Young Soul Rebels Van Morrison, Astral Weeks Billy Bragg, Life's a Riot with Spy v Spy Television Marquee Moon and of course Primal Scream Sonic Flower Groove!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -Elliot

They played a free show in the walmart parking lot to promote their new album. I talked to a group of girls that drove all the way down from Ohio to see them. Lots of hot girls. OGTEleven
Just got a new one..... Big & Rich "Horse of a Fifferent Color". Yeah, it's a Country album, but it rocks. It will not disappoint. That's a promise.

Ralonzo
good album but Crime of the Century is actually their first album. My vote goes for Joe Jackson, Look Sharp. Three instant classics including Sunday Papers, Is She Really Going Out With Him, and Got the Time. Runner-up going to Iron Maiden. 202485 Neither was their first. They did two albums, "Supertramp" and "Indelibly Stamped" financed by some eccentric dude. Neither was very notable. COTC was the first album they had to stand on their own, and it was brilliant. Greybeard
Top 21 Greatest Debut Albums: * Hendrix - Are You Experienced * Beatles - Please Please Me (or, alternatively "Meet The Beatles" - the U.S. debut) * Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin * The Doors - The Doors * Crosby, Stills, and Nash * Carole King - Tapestry * Pearl Jam - Ten * Oasis - Definitely Maybe * Traffic - Mr. Fantasy * Alanis Morrisette - Jagged Little Pill * Chicago - Chicago Transit Authority * Emerson, Lake & Palmer * Dave Mason - Alone Together * Elton John - Elton John * New Riders of the Purple Sage * The Police - Outlandous d'Amour * Allman Brothers - the Allman Brothers Band * The Traveling Wilburys - Volume One * The Mamas and The Papas - If You Can Believe Your Eyes and ears * Loggins & Messina - Sittin' In * The Who - The Who Sings My Generation 203569 Nice list. I count 13 of those in my vinyl collection. The 13 older ones. From the 60's both the Lefte Banke intro album and the Moby Grape album should garner votes. chicot
Stone Roses. 201971 Great choice, though I'm suprised to see it on an American football message board. I didn't think they were that well known in the US. I'd add Tom McRae's self-titled debut album to the list - it's pretty obscure but well worth a listen.
