So, you think the Bills draft badly???

Recommended Posts

In 2009 the Dallas Cowboys drafted 12 players. When Victor Butler was signed by the Saints earlier this week, that left the Cowboys with zero (0) players on their roster from that draft.

Yep, 12 draft pix and after 3 seasons..... nothing to show for from that draft. Jerry Jones may want to fire coaches, but he might want to look straight at himself as President and GM.

Umm, if they were drafted in 2009 isn't that 4 seasons....???

Bills have a whopping 2 players left from that draft (Wood & Byrd).

Truth be said. The Bills barely have Wood. If not for the tag he would be gone. As it is, he may be just a one year rental as it is.

At least he can play in the NFL though.

Some draft classes are better overall than others. Have a look at the 2009 first round, there were a lot of 1st rounders who haven't lived up to their draft positions. That is life in every year, but 2009 appears worse than some that I remember.

Comparing number of starters per draft with other teams is precarious at best. Just because our former draftees are starting for the Bills doesn't mean they would start for other teams, or even still be in the NFL if it wasn't for the Bills. Case in point, Aaron Williams or our entire starting LBs.

Bills drafted pretty well last year with Gillmore in RD1, Glenn in RD2. Then Nix had a massive bout of incompetence and passed up Russel Wilson when the team needed a QB and drafted TJ Grahm would was projected to go 2-3 rounds lower. I nearly threw my remote through the TV when that happened. Had the potential to be one of the best Bills drafts in the last 10 years, then Nix, like the Bills, snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Yet they are in the playoff hunt year in and year out.

Since 2000, the Cowboys have had only 3 seasons of 10+ wins. In the last 3 years they haven't been better than 8-8. They haven't won a playoff game beyond the wild-card round since 1995 (the exact same as Buffalo). The only reason they were in the hunt lately is because their division has been crappy. Remember 2010, when Seattle won their division with a losing record (7-9)? That same level of suckitude has been the recent history of the NFC East (during the regular season at least). Dallas isn't a good team and has not been one in awhile. Dallas is in a division where 9 wins could very well be 1st place, whereas in the AFC East 11-12 wins is needed to just be even with New England.
