Brad Smith and releasing him to get cap room to sign a FA receiver

Recommended Posts

IMO he'll make a good 3rd or 4th WR, he's a decent returner, good WC guy, good special team player all around, and in a pinch can play QB. Jack of all, master of none. No reason to get rid of him unless we have clear upgrades in multiple positions, starting with WR.

I think Brad Smith has been a waste since he has been here, but do we really need to cut him to add a WR since we only have 2 besides him on the roster? I think we need to dump him and sign 3 or 4 receivers, maybe 5 or 6 just to find a couple decent ones in camp. This team doesn't need Smith. As a QB he has completed both passes he has attempted since coming here-to the other team. With McKelvin resigned, we don't need him as a return man, and he runs straight ahead until he gets hit anyway. His best role is at WR, and probably #5 or #6 on the depth chart, and he makes too much for that.

Nelson can't get open against starting corners his only worth was inside the 5....Brad Smith sorry as it is - a better wide receiver and he's not very good

No he isn't. Wow? That's just crazy.
