5 Wide
All my rationalization and justification for not signing Levitre due to his probable salary went out the window when they signed McKelvin for $5 million a year
jcbillsfan
If the Bills let Levitre walk, and he signs 8 mil per year somewhere else, would we be happy if we where able to sign Vasquez and Laron Landry both around 5-6mil per year. Essentially we'd be trading Levitre for a comparable Gaurd and starting SS.  What about if we sign Landry and DeVito and no Vasquez? I think I would make the first move all day. Urbik is our best blocker on paper anyways.  Just to note I would like to keep Levitre at a reasonable 7.5 per cieling.  You nailed it.  All my rationalization and justification for not signing Levitre due to his probable salary went out the window when they signed McKelvin for $5 million a year  Mckelvin is only guarenteed 7.5 million. JPS
Doesn't it help the Bills when Levitre signs a HUGE contract (compensatory)?
JM57
Doesn't it help the Bills when Levitre signs a HUGE contract (compensatory)? Â Only if they don't sign someone in his place I believe. Something to do with net loss and net gains IIRC. And it sold obviously be a 2014 pick

Mango
If we let Levitre walk, our qb will be staring at the sky and Spiller will be a prime target. Too many injuries to fill rest of line. Â Spiller primarily runs behind Urbik and Mcintyre. In theory you could move Urbik to lg and start Reinhardt at rg, and get similar production. Â Any decrease in OL play this year will be mostly due to scheming and the screen game chan used. Getting spiller in space is why he was so good. Lurker
Too much for an OG who's never made a Pro Bowl or had playoff experience. He's a fine player, but that is a budget buster... Edited March 12, 2013 by Lurker
The Big Cat
Does this make him the highest paid guard in the NFL?
ProbablyWrong
Not a surprise, but quicker than I expected. I wouldn't want him at that price anyways, though.

Kelly the Dog
5 years, 39 million for Levitre in Tennessee Just under 8 m a year is too much for the Bills to pay for him. Get Brandon Moore.

habes1280
It's tough to build when you can't establish or maintain your core, and having a strong interior line was a nice change of direction these past few years, but I'm not sure the Bills could have matched a contract like that. jtf1444
Thats lots of money for a guard. I wanted them to keep him but I can see why no deal got done if he wanted that kind of money!
Bangarang
That's a lot. I'd rather pay that much for a good LB or WR.
Mango
I would have been hard pressed not to match that. Right on the bubble for his worth. Hope we get Vasquez
