Design a Bills Quarterback!

I have already looked at lots of video of draftable QB's, and realized, "I'm going at this backwards! Let me look at what Chan and Nix are saying when they talk about players and QB's, then I'll have a better idea of what the Bills would be looking for in April 2013."

When they speak of player qualities they value, Chan and/or Nix have mentioned:

1. maturity

2. chemistry

3. limits turnovers

4. efficient in the red zone

5. moves on (stays "level", not too emotional--the AntiCutler)

6. can run

7. slides!

8. can play in the elements

9. responds to adversity

10. studious

What other qualities would you add?

That would be a good one. And comes with the WR's of the early 90 Bills and SJ.

See #12 of the Green Bay Packers. That is all.

Logan Thomas is a Ben Roethlisberger type of qb. He has size (6'6', 260), arm strength and accuracy. He is very well respected by his teammates and coaches. There are many qbs who are going to be more prolific in the college game but his physical attributes and skills easily translate to the pro game. His stats are going to be somewhat down this year because his OL is very young and his skill position players are relatively inexperienced.

In the next draft Nix needs to draft a high end qb prospect with his first pick. We certainly don't need to go after a retread vet or a lower round long term developmental qb. This is the year to address a desperate need that hasn't been addressed in the past generation. Until the qb position is upgraded the Bills will continue to be a second-rate team.

That's what I like to know when I submit the Bills' Positional Needs to DraftTek. I have WR as our 2nd-highest need right now, with OLB and ILB as our P3.

One WR would be a hard-nosed, feisty, athletic Andre Reed type, and another would be the smooth, cool-as-a-cuke Lofton type (if that's not Nelson). I think we have our Don Beebe (Graham).

Bills QB:

  • Rob Johnson's ability
  • Doug Flutie's height
  • Drew Bledsoe's mobility
  • Ryan Fitzpatrick's accuracy
  • Trent Edward's decision making
  • Brian Brohm's "potential"
  • JP Losman's hair

We did say we were designing a Bills QB, right?

:w00t:

So you would NOT be in favor of taking a second QB in late rounds that has developmental qualities? Does everyone agree?
