San-O
Very happy about the D-line and D in general with the off season additions. What about the O-line: the Bills are going into the season (TBA) with the same O-line as last season, which isn't very good. I know the expectations were high with Gailey being on O guy, but the Bills didn't score any more points than the previous season that the stats show. How many years does it take fix/correct the O-line? Edited July 16, 2011 by SoCal-Surf
Doc
Word is that they're targeting Falcon's RT Tyson Clabo.
AthensThunder
Just curious ,which O-line are you refering to.The one we started with, the 3 or 4 we had in the season or the one we ended up with??? Another thing is just how many linemen do you know that can be dropped into a game without knowing the offense at all?Again just curious.
PromoTheRobot
We only had 7 picks, needed a ton of help on D, and still picked up one OT. Wait till FA and UDFA signings. PTR
DanInUticaTampa
What about the oline? it gets addressed during free agency. Might not get addressed correctly, but it will be addressed. Nix has already said they will add a tackle via free agency. It can be anyone from a scrub to a legit starter. If we don't fix it this year, then I guess we address it next offseason or hope harrison develops faster. The oline really isn't a mystery at this point, except for RT which we don't know who will be playing there. We know the interior linemen, even the backups, are pretty decent or better. Bell is..... not the worst we have had. He is inconsistant, and looks pretty bad some days. But overall, he has shown steady improvement, which is encouraging. We really already know how these players play, and RT is the only position on the bills radar needing to be fixed, since they seem to have settled for bell. The biggest problem with the offense was running the ball to control the clock more. They could sling the ball all day. but couldn't run it at all. The run game did get better once Wood got more healthy and bell improved. I am not that worried about the oline, except for RT. Though I would like a better LT. DanInUticaTampa
He is average, but was a probowler last year. He is starting calibar, but not great.

I can't remember remember who was at RT, however I'm not the one signing these guys. Bell started 16 games. Wood started 14 games. Hangartneer started 12 games. Levitre started 16 games. He is average, but was a probowler last year. He is starting calibar, but not great. I thought thet were going to move Wood to center, which means they would need another guard? Maybe not? Didn't you watch a game last season? You didn't see the travesty of cornell green playing RT? The misfit backups trying to take care of RT when Green went on IR? Urbik Taking over at guard when Wood moved to center? This all happened in the games last year.
atlbillsfan1975
OK, I am not familiar with Clabo. Is he capable/average? He is a very solid RT. The Falcons have had a good running game and offense as a whole for the past couple years. The reason the Falcons are probably not going to resign him is a numbers game. They have 3 starters all up for free agency. They Like Blaylock at gaurd and Dahl i think and feel the price will be better for those two then Clabo. If the Bills can sing him then they should do so. It sounds like they are going to have to spend some money anyways. And it would be nice to solidfy the OLine with a proven comodity over a developing player. The mind tends to erase painful memories. Again, I'n not the one signing these clowns. He is a very solid RT. IF this is correct, and they can do this, take some pressure off Fitz, and get a better running game going, I could see them winning 7 or 8 games. Clabo is also just under 30 years old(turns 30 in Oct), which means he has plenty of gas left in the tank. You would be getting a guy in more or less his prime. Olineman can be very productive into their mid 30's. he has started every game over the past 3 seasons for the falcons. So no real injury concerns. To me it makes to much sense. which means it wont happen! ha

John from Riverside
There are like 3-4 RT options that would immediately help this team in free agency.....as long as we address it.

If I were Ralph, I would find an O-line scout specialist or something: Pay somebody and build this thing.
Ghost of Rob Johnson
I don't think RT is a position that Buddy & Co value all that highly. Wrotto was resigned and started 7 games at RT before being injured. My assumption is that between Wrotto, Pears, Wang and Hairston their RT is already on their roster. San-O
Couldn't disagree more. OK, I'll bite: How do you explain the Bills O being 25th in the league in yards/game and 28th in points/game? Has nothing to do with the O-line?
