SI Writers are Ridiculous

Recommended Posts

The early games weren't kind for coaches on the hot seat. Singletary led the way with his theatrical meltdown. But Eric Mangini and Fisher also lost and might have let any chance to keep their jobs slip away. It will be interesting to see if any more coaches join the list in a week. Buffalo's Chan Gailey hasn't had much time, but the Bills weren't competitive against the Pats

Yes , we got our asses kicked today , badly. But to insinuate that Chan could possibly be on the hot seat after today is stupid. The Bills have been competive against every team they played this year for the most part.

Agreed.

Chan should not feel as if he is about to lose his job, but I would like to see some fire come out. I would love to see him coach these guys next Sunday like it is the last game of their lives next year, to destroy the Jets. Not because they're a rival, not anything like that, the team just needs to be fired up and go in to this offseason with something to be proud of; say, a big win against the Jets.

If we did ditch Gailey at this point, or Nix, it would make us look like idiots. What coach would want to come here after watching us improve with Gailey then fire him?

Five of the losses have been by less than a touchdown. Six were by more. The Bills have the fourth-worst point differential in the NFL. If you think this is anything other than a really bad team, you are kidding yourself.

I agree that Chan is not in any jeopardy. But that is because he is in his first year and the Bills won't pay two people not to coach. He hasn't actually done anything to earn his position yet.

Chan is safe, bring on Rob Ryan.

you're off your rocker. how many cycles have you been through? this is the first time the team has been headed in the right direction in twenty years. chan gailey knows how to coach. you are right that wins and losses are ultimate barometer, but they aren't the only one.

Chan has done a fine job with the hand he was dealt. I'd like to see what he does with a team that could actually stop the run when it needs to...

He was dealt the 19th ranked defense and turnet into the 24th.

He was dealt a team that won 6-7 games every year (with no apparent coaching) and has won 4 games (not one quality win).

He was dealt an offense that ranked 28th in scoring and turned it into the 27th.

He was dealt the 9th pick and chose the most electrifying player in the draft.

You sound like some maroon who would go to the Playboy mansion and B word about the food.

Get your nose out of the book. We all know the actual record isnt much to look at. But besides the facts you mention above, the LAST fact is that this team is playing harder, with more energy and with more cohesion than they have in years....YEARS.

4-11?

Why the hell should his job be secure?

He *should* be on the hot seat. So should every single player and employee.

This organization sucks, from top to bottom. No one's job should be secure. We should be looking for better options at every position.

You are right of course. But you always have to remember that national sports writers don't give a **** about the Bills. They have been irrelevant for 11 years now and counting and a team with a 4-11 record isn't going to make them sit up and take notice. They feel no need to spend any time on the Bills and for good reason. They don't realize that Mr. Wilson likes what Chan has done lately with the team, is a capable coach, and no doubt is not costing him a fortune. They cannot, and do not, see the reasons for keeping Chan. In their minds any coach of a 4-11 team has his head on the chopping block.

And losing just as much.

Our offense is horrible, statistically its one of the worst.

Yes this team almost beat some good teams and we have lost a few sqeekers, but we did the same thing under Dickie boy.

I think this team could be headed in the right direction and we will find out real fast next year if thats the case.

I also think this roster does no favors to the coaching staff. Im not sure we had one player on either side of the ball that would be a starter on the Pats.

This team is not as good as many think.

Besides the facts? Ok, have it your way.
