Certainly Easly's 7 career starts in the Big-East conference don't justify a 4th round pick, but 6'2 3/4" and 210lbs with 4.42 speed generates interest. It says the team isn't real high on either player to draft a guy in the 4th round. Nor should they be. I'm not going to advocate that the Bills should cut them, but they've done absolutely nothing to this point to deserve the free pass that many seem to give them. "Waaa, I've never heard of that guy because I only watch half a dozen college games and read my favorite draft blogs...I want a guy with numbers from the draft....I want a guy with a name I've heard!..." And consider that there are busts in every round every year and that the people who do this for a living make mistakes too. On the second day, err, third day of the draft, all you want are prospects with high upside and Easley easily qualifies as such. He might bust but he might also be another TO; you can't get rich without taking risks. From that standpoint, this was probably a better pick than Troup in Round 2. The guy has the physical traits but only started showing production in his senior year. CBS has him rated at the 13th best WR and NFL.com has him rated at 5.'something low'. Apparently his combine performance had him looking pretty good, but he just didn't look all that great on the field. I think there was some really good talent at other positions of need that could have been considered, but if they wanted a WR there were some guys that really showed more talent on the field available. There must be something Nix and/or Gailey like about Easley, I'm just no sure what it is.
