This seems like one of those press conferences General Managers give about their head coach. The kind where they assure the media their coach's job is safe and not in jeopardy. Then, two days later, the same GM fires said coach. http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2015/06/06/412506802/putin-to-west-russia-is-no-threat

In the last few minutes there are reports of Iranian drones (which Russia has) in NATO airspace (Poland). Reports say 3 have been shot down. Polish and NATO jets have been scrambled.
-
Bc the odds of WWIII sky rocket if Ukraine joins NATO No matter what Putin signs the risk of a future Russian incursion anywhere in Ukraine….isnt zero. Especially if Democrats meddle in Ukrainian elections. EU? Fine. NATO? No way.

Drones spotted over Poland airspace.

Polish armed forces say Russian objects have been 'downed', marking the first time the Nato country has directly engaged Russian assets in its airspace since the Ukraine war started in 2022 I have a real hard time believing that Russia would take advantage of a weak US position to pressure NATO countries. I mean, who could have possibly predicted that? -
Charlie Kirk shot in Utah (Pronounced Dead)

Did they catch the shooter in that massive public place? jeez. I suppose Russia invading polish airspace and the need to act on the NATO pact will just have to wait a while -
My expectations were low because I don't believe a negotiated peace is possible without major concessions from both sides. Russia wants territorial concessions and a neutral Ukraine, no NATO membership, and a rollback of NATO forces from their border with specific security guarantees. Ukraine and Europe want a do over. Unconditional peace and complete Russian withdrawal from occupied territories, NATO and EU membership, and the continuation of encircling Russia and placing offensive weapons at their border. Something has to give or war goes on.
-
I think that getting the border secured and getting most NATO countries to provide something close to what they promised are OK.
-
What we should get: everyone keeps what they currently have, Ukraine joins NATO and the EU. A true compromise peace. What we'll probably get. The President forcing Ukraine to abandon NATO aspirations and cede all the Oblasts Russia annexed in their fake referendums. The EU is forced to continue rearming and centralizing if it wants guarantee the security of Baltics and the rump Ukrainian state.

UPDATE: ISRAEL v IRAN - Ceasefire reached?
SectionC3 replied to Big Blitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
And NATO. -
I honestly think there is something wrong with you. The issue is how a sovereign nation handles an incursion into its airspace. Is that not clear? Trump has no standing in determining how they handle that, NATO member or not. You seemingly can't address any situation without brining him up, or puking MAGA into the conversation, but for your edification, how a nation's airspace is handled is determined by that nation, as it should be. You are weird, and clearly obsessed.

UPDATE: ISRAEL v IRAN - Ceasefire reached?

Russia attacked NATO, when? -
Good Lord. I am not debating anything with you, and I'm not going to be directed by some goof on this site to do homework. What I stand by is that I don't think China will support, militarily, any Russian adventure against NATO in Europe. Maybe verbally, but not militarily. That has nothing to do with you, as I am quite sure you have no idea. Either way, I am not going to do homework that you direct.

I can't see this ending until Putin is gone. He is now dug in so deep that he can't negotiate away territorial gains, and NATO/the US similarly can't reward him with anything more than official recognition of Crimea as Russian territory. It is an utterly irrational war from Russia's national perspective, but it may be totally rational from Putin's perspective if he is correct that "losing" would mean the end of his rule.
