  1. I don't think the Bills should make any trades for next years (high) picks. This draft is a special draft because so many juniors are coming out early, that will weaken next years crop.
  2. Many of these guys are probably sick of Jerry Jones too.
  3. You're a real stickler. Love it when someone bogs down a discussion with complaints like this.
  4. What I have read about him is pretty impressive. He can play a variety of positions on the line, has good size, and watching some youtube, looks to have a "high motor".
  5. It's not the scheme, it's the lack of talent. Poz is right. The DC was fine, the players were not.
  6. You obviously hate Lee Evans. I didn't suggest that the Colts WOULD give a pick, a pepper, or a effin pie for Evans. I did suggest though, that he would play well for the Colts, would be glad to go there, and that they would be happy to have him. You can feel however you want about him (you could say "Evans would be the #2 guy on the Miami Dolphins practice squad"), but I think he would do well on a team like the Colts. I
  7. If you read what I wrote, you would see that I never mention what I thought the Colts or anyone else would trade for Evans. I posted that he would thrive with them, he would likely be happy to go there, and that they would like to have him. I think these are all true. I believe he is a good player that would do well there. I think people that want to get rid of him are being foolish, because the Bills won't likely get enough back in return.
  8. I do. I bet he would flourish with Manning (most would). He would probably love to go there too. He is built like their other receivers. He would light it up. He isn't that older either.
  9. Does anyone else LIKE the red helmets? I know that they changed them because they would be easier to for the QB to discern because all the other teams in the division had white helmets then (except the Jets, who at the time, had green [i think]). I saw the silver helmet and I think it's cool, except that it look like the Patriots. Can't have that.
  10. Where did I imply a "rule"? It's my opinion, you are free to voice yours.
  11. Great Idea! I didn't realize how many idiots frequented this board. It's a privately owned sport and you want to give those guys their own holiday! Pathetic. How about we give the NFL a seat in the Cabinet? "The United States Department of Football" Give them spectacle!
  12. Yes, it's wonderful. But now I am curious how much money the NFL donates to US Military Veterans? I would hope that the way they wrap themselves in the flag that they are contributing close to $100 million a season. Somehow I doubt they do......
  13. Really? Hmmm, do you think he can match wits with someone like say.... Bill Polian? I don't.
  14. Take a look offstage, behind the curtain.
  15. Nice job capturing my feelings. I can't stand the way patriotism is abused. They wrap themselves up in the flag the way a country singer might write a bunch of "Odes to A-merica" in hopes of scoring a hit. It plays/pays well in the heartland , no? Cowboy fan.
  16. Perhaps. But this also shows just how much money the schools are making off the football programs. There is no way that they think this will LOSE theam any money. I think guys would still rather get paid (legally), I don't that suddenly no one leaves Tennesee early (oh, I just want to stay here in this beautiful facility, keep your hundreds of thousands of dollars"). NCAA Regulations, what a joke!
  17. Mock drafts beyond the first half of the first round are ridiculous.
  18. You could say that about ANY player. I agree that the Bills have decent enough receivers. I don't know much about Green either. But I do know that if he projects to be a rare talent, far and away the best guy on the board, they should pick him. They will still have the 2nd and 3rd round to picks for need. It's funny, because the same guys that DON'T want the Bills to ever take a 1st rd QB ("you can find a QB anywhere. Warner, Brady, Romo...) will they insist that the Bills use their first on O and D lineman, when they can be found in later rounds just as, if not more easily. Interesting stat I just came upon- "Of the four defensive tackles selected with the top pick since 1980 they played 39 seasons with one Pro Bowl appearance (Russell Maryland) between them." I think the first few picks of the 1st round have to be based on TALENT, unless it's some absurd situation (I know the Bills are absurd, but they aren't so overly talented at ANY position that they can pass up on an elite talent).
  19. I live in LA. One team can be successful as long as it can weather the bad seasons. Very "fair -weather fans" (USC certainly knows this). The 2 team thing is just Jerry Jones egomania. The funny thing is that he will lose a substantial market for Cowboy trinkets if a new LA team (or teams) is successful because the Cowboys have a huge fan base here (the Cowboys are "Mexico's Team" as well as "America's Team". JJ just can't resist "thinking big". If 2 teams were to come to LA, it would likely take at least one team a lot longer to get established, and JJ wouldn't even get to reap the benefits because he would be dead and gone. I don't think the Bills will move to LA, they occupy an area of the North America (not just Buffalo) that it is in the leagues interest to serve. Toronto is more likely, but I don't expect that to happen either.
  20. I completely disagree that a TE is "crucial". I think that if they feel a strong need to upgrade these positions, they will find a free agent somewhere, or hope to find a guy with one of the other picks (not in the 1st rd). They probably won't get "the best tight end in the league" or "a RT that anchors the right side of the line for a decade" this way, but I think (and hope) that they are thinking more along the lines of "A QB that lead the franchise to multiple consecutive playoff berths" or "a DE that led the league in sacks for 4 straight seasons). Why do I think and hope that they are going to take this approach? Because an elite QB and D-lineman ARE crucial.
  21. I wrote a little skit. It's based on a true story. The setting is the Pacific Northwest 1984. GM: "We need a big man! We will never win the big one, until we get a big man. They are rarer than hen's teeth, but this year there is one, and if we are lucky we will have a shot at the kind of player that we can build a dynasty around." Dissenting voice (Jack Ramsey?): "I don't know this Jordan kid, is a guard, but he looks pretty good, I like his drive." GM: "Nonsense, we just drafted Drexler, now we need the center piece." When you get a pick up at the top of the draft, you HAVE to take the best guy. I hope the best guy is a front-7 defensive player, but if it's the receiver Green I won't shed a tear. The rest of the picks they can draft for need, but in that top 5 or so, you gotta pick the cherries.
  22. Yeah, we just need to do what the Patriots did. The next Tom Brady will be there in the 6th round, so everyone just relax....
  23. I think Gailey is just putting out some draft herrings. BUT,(and I can't believe I am saying it), I could imagine teams starting to regularly use more than one QB (the 18 game schedule could push something like this forward too, but for a different reason) It would expand the options of the offense, and would wreak havoc for defense's and coordinators. It would shift the power structure, with the OC's having much more power, and the QB losing quite a bit. Fitzpatrick would be a great QB for some thing like this because I think he could handle sharing the job. With the kind of approach that Oregon used (I'm not saying teams should run the option, but more the TEMPO they used), the spread out offenses, and running QB's, things are getting innovative. Of course, I don't think the Bills are going to take a leading role in any movement like this, and will probably (and should) draft a front 7 guy.
