  1. This subject comes up each year. As a son of a former local politician I have to say that a HUGE obstacle to the Bills moving to Niagara Falls is the fact that it is in a different county. The Erie County power base wouldn't just hand an NFL team to Niagara County. Niagara County is horribly corrupt. The political scene there is at a much lower level of sophistication (I know, it's hard to believe), and power within the state. They haven't been up to the task of running that city as it is. Frankly, it's all mafioso and farmers.
  2. All these things help get better players, keep players. Better players means more wins. More wins means more money. More money means better facilities, better coaches, better gifts for the next round of players, better better better money money money money. It can't be simplified to "well some student already there got a car. Big deal" And not all has been revealed yet. I don't blame Tressel, or any coach because it's the only way to compete. The whole system is a farce, and in some ways knocking big schools down a notch from time to time keeps the power located at the NCAA.
  3. You need Rush Limbaugh's help to come to that conclusion?
  4. Nice to see you here, please continue throughout the season. This is gonna be fun! Your coach reads and writes? Color me impressed, maybe your mama will read his book to you while she tucks you in. (He is one hell of a cameraman/video director as well!) As far as the Jets draft, some questionable picks.I wonder if his wife influenced the Jets selections?
  5. I think it's fine for them to spend a seventh round pick on this guy. The list I provided were the only guys picked after Jasper that the Bills won't have a chance to sign. To B word and moan over that is ridiculous, not clever.
  6. Okay. Which one of these guys did you have your heart set on? Jay Finley RB Baylor Big 12 7^ 247 Denver Broncos Jeremy Beal LB Oklahoma Big 12 7^ 248 Cleveland Browns Eric Hagg CB Nebraska Big 12 7^ 249 Arizona Cardinals DeMarco Sampson WR San Diego State MWC 7^ 250 San Francisco 49ers Curtis Holcomb CB Florida A&M MEAC 7^ 251 Tennessee Titans Tommie Campbell CB California (PA) PSAC 7^ 252 Dallas Cowboys Bill Nagy C Wisconsin Big Ten 7^ 253 Washington Redskins Chris Neild DT West Virginia Big East 7^ 254 Houston Texans Cheta Ozougwu
  7. The fact that he shed so much weight after they told him that he needed to, says a little about his desire. I can't picture Mike Williams becoming that dedicated. He may improve quickly, with top level coaching....
  8. http://buffalowdown.com/files/2011/04/michaeljasper.jpg It's so ridiculous, that it looks photoshopped. Look at the his teammates number (87) and compare it to Jasper's 69. I know one is the front of the jersey, and the other is the back, but I would think they would be the same size. It's out of hand!
  9. Those are Doug Flutie numbers. But Flutie played with an awesome defense. Fitz will have a better year this season.
  10. He seems very mature. He plays hard, but acts like an adult. I'm real happy about this pick..... Cool guy.
  11. I watched this video, and I understand completely why he was overcome with emotion. I got no satisfaction from it. Know who I want to see crying for the same reasons? Ryan Fitzpatrick. In fact I would love to see the entire Bills roster blubbering all over each other, Ralph Wilson, their wives and children, the fans, and the Lombardi Trophy. I would love to see them so broken up over the realization that others had so underestimated them, that they nearly never had a chance to prove their greatness. That would give me some satisfaction.
  12. You know Sissy Bills, I think you are right. I'm not gonna start anymore posts. It's too much for me. I would rather intentionally misinterpret others' posts and act like a prick. Here's to ya Sissy!
  13. This is a special draft, definitley not the right draft to trade away picks to get more picks for NEXT years draft. There are more juniors declaring for this draft than ever before because of the CBA situation. To trade away picks, and receive picks for next years draft would really be foolish. This is a VERY strong draft, and for that reason I wouldn't mind if they traded down in return for more pick in THIS years draft. The Bills need to get a game changing talent from this draft. How they do it, I don't care. But DO it.
  14. I think it is clear that the intention of the article is suggest where you can get the best value for each position. It definitely doesn't encourage drafting Cornerbacks when you have the worst rush defense in the league or any such nonsense, and I don't see how anyone could interpret anything along those lines. It doesn't suggest what positions to draft when building a team, only where teams have generally gotten the best value for each position/ or where teams choose to find different positional players. The article isn't as interesting to me as the chart.
  15. Nowhere does it suggest to continually draft the same position at the round they are on the chart year after year. No one can account for Matt Millen's idiocy It merely shows that if you are looking for a starting caliber QB, or cornerback you are wasting your time trying to draft one in the lower rounds because the good ones go in the first. On the other hand, starting caliber Guards are relatively easy to find in the middle rounds, suggesting perhaps that teams either don't value that position, or that an "elite talent" Guard might not have much more impact than a Guard with "pretty good" talent. And that the skills needed to compete at QB and corner are set at a higher bar with fewer possessing the rare talents needed. I know there are other variables, other angles to criticize, but the FACT remains, THIS IS WHERE TEAMS ARE DRAFTING THE STARTERS AT EACH POSITION.
  16. The chart shows where ALL teams are drafting by position. Yes, EVEN THE WINNING TEAMS! It has nothing to do SPECIFICALLY with the BIlls. The Bills have chosen poorly. And they HAVEN'T been following the chart or they wouldn't have drafted Mike "Fatman" Williams" or Lil' Donte. They have also blown it when drafting D-lineman (Maybin, Erik Flowers). I don't like the guys they have chosen, never did, and will be very disappointed if they draft a defensive back in the first 3 rounds. They also haven't been drafting good O-lineman in the 3rd round. They have been chasing their own tail for years. I think the main reason they have sucked FOR SO LONG is because they haven't had a good QB. Yes, Fitz is "alright", but obviously not good enough to overcome the many deficiencies the Bills have, especially in ONE SEASON. I am not saying they have to follow this chart, nor do I think they shouldn't draft big players, but the chart shows where NFL teams are expecting to get the best value for their picks. I think the main thing I see on the chart that I think is particularly relevant to THIS DRAFT, and THE BILLS, is that OFFENSIVE LINEMAN are generally found in the 3rd, and middle rounds. I am hoping (and suspect the Bills, and apparently the rest of the #%$^ing NFL!) won't use either of the first two picks on an offensive lineman. Good Day Sir...........I SAID "GOOD DAY SIR"!!
  17. And another thing. The chart shows the FACTS. These stats show where the players are drafted (or not) for every team, not just the lowly Bills. It hasn't been the POSITION of the players that has been the problem, it's the PLAYERS that they have drafted. The players have been sub-par performers. Plus, they haven't had an elite QB since Jim Kelly, and that's a big part of their problems. The Bills are "off the charts" at sucking.
  18. I don't think I have ever agreed with ieatcrayonz before, but I kinda think he is right this time. I posted the article without comment because I can see some of the variables that could be argued. But I think the chart has validity. Maybe they would have if they had gotten a hold of a good quarterback at some point. QB has been holding back this team for a decade. It has been the number one problem, and has kept the ship tied to the dock.
  19. Not sure if this article has been posted before (probably has), but it is interesting. http://www.ourlads.com/dayone/default.aspx
  20. I think they will bring in a mid-level free agent to start at RT. I don't think they feel there is much of a difference between the impact of an very good lineman Vs. an average lineman.
  21. Rob Johnson was easily the best of the bunch, he even had a playoff game won, except the last kickoff....not his fault.
  22. Yes, the Bills suck. But I still believe that Gailey knows how all the parts need to interact in his offense, where their matchups are weakest, and what improvements will provide the most benefits. I hope they do SOMETHING to improve the running game, because other than getting a new QB (I like FitzPat), I can't imagine a better way to improve the overall offense (it would open up the passing game too). I think the receivers, especially with Parrish back (I can't believe I wrote that, but Gailey was actually getting some use out him. Of course he gets injured every year....) are alright, they aren't gonna get a new RB, so the positions I would guess they would pinpoint are Tight End and RT or RG. Or a QB.....
  23. This seems so obvious, but I think many people have chosen a political party, and whatever the platform of that party is, they will stick with it. Probably because they don't want to admit their chosen party is full of $%^#. Many people consider their party choice a way of life, and have developed an identity that conforms to their party's doctrines. To admit the party is corrupt or misguided would be too damaging to their self-image. (this can be applied to either of the dominate political parties. I think they are 2-sides of the same coin myself) I have no doubt that if (or when) they were able to, the corporate would turn every city into a updated version of the old mining town. Everybody know about those? The company would own the homes, own the local businesses, and of course, control the wages. Indentured servitude (the modern version would allow you to have big screen plasma televisions, and a wide variety of inexpensive Chinese "leisure goods"to dull the senses) was common (not so different from the current credit system), and everyone was trapped. There are people that post on this board that want the day after the Super Bowl to be declared a national holiday.
  24. I think the GM and coach feel that they can build up the O-line without spending any high picks on it (1st or 2nd pick). I think they expect the guys they have to get better and to maybe pick up a FA.. I think they can do it that way too. Not a great line, but a good line. I trust Gailey to know what improvements need to be made to the offense to accomplish what he wants. They will find a better Right Tackle somehow. Bad plan. This is a very deep draft because so many Juniors have left early (more than ever before) due to the CBA situation. Aside from Andrew Luck (are you really wishing upon that star?), I don't know that next years QB class is any better than this years crop. If they want to trade back, it should be for THIS years draft picks.
