  1. After John Butler and company left, and with Ralph getting up there in age (around 80) Ralph became more "hands off" and hired Tom Donahoe as the team's president (something that hasn't been done in team history at that point). After a disastrous 5-11 season and with the front office in turmoil, Ralph fired Donahoe and went to a trusted friend in Marv Levy to turn things around. While Marv was a great HC, he was a terrible GM. Marv hired a terrible choice in HC [Jauron], dismantled a great defense and made terrible FA moves and draft picks. Once Marv stepped down as GM, he was replaced by Russ Brandon who was even worse as a GM. While Brandon has been great on the business side of football, he's been absolutely horrible when it comes to the on-field product. As Ralph grew older, he conceded more power to Brandon and others and the end result showed up on the field. Basically, Ralph put this team on "Auto-Pilot" once he hired Donahoe and the team has been in a downward spiral ever since as he hired people to take care of the team for him as he was very hands off over those 15 years. Unfortunately, the effects of that are still lingering on as Russ Brandon still has a lot of authority and influence on the team. The latest was when Terry Pegula asked Brandon about hiring a new HC, Brandon said "you go into these searches with no preconceived notions and expectations, and when you have the right guy, you just know." That right there is absolutely pathetic! It doesn't matter what business you're in, you must have expectations and knowledge about the position(s) you are hiring for. This post isn't mean to bash the dead. Without Ralph Wilson, there would be no Buffalo Bills in the first place and the team wouldn't have stayed in Buffalo after his death. I do appreciate everything he's done for the city and for us fans. But, with him putting this team on "autopilot," it's had a tremendous impact on the franchise for over 17 years now. It's a huge hole to dig out of and who knows how long it will take to dig out from.
  2. I agree, she was! Great eye candy!
  3. IMO, I'd like to see Peterman get the start and have the whole season to play, that way we can see if he can progress and look like he can be the franchise QB. If he keeps making strides by the end of the year and has potential, then the Bills can use all those picks on other players besides having to package them up to select a QB high in the draft.
  4. You're right the Ravens stadium is really nice. We sat in section 150 and had a great view of the field last night. I also agree about the sound system, video, and concourses. The last couple of preseason games I went to at the Ralph, there were a bunch of fights and security had remove people. It was great not seeing any issues like that last night. I sat around around a mix of Ravens and Bills fans and no one trash mouthed each other. Speaking of stadiums, another good one is the Eagles stadium. We went there in May to see Metallica and had a great time. By far, they had the best food there. The roast pork sandwiches from Tony Luke's were awesome (also sold cheesesteaks there). IMO, the Pegula's should look at both stadiums in Baltimore and Philly. The food from the concourses were bland (needed something more). We had the pit beef, roast turkey and crab cake sandwich and they were dry and needed more seasoning (as well as a sauce). IMO, the best thing we ate were the hot dogs from the vendors that came up the aisles.
  5. I'm in the stands at M&T Stadium. So far, the defense looks improved from last year. Before Peterman came in, the offense couldn't do anything. Granted, the Ravens have a great defense. You could tell the difference once Peterman came in, too bad penalties killed a lot of drives. Great two minute drive by the offense.
  6. Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora · 38s Bills new regime doing yeoman's work trying to change culture here. Loosey-goosey Rex Ryan days long over. Dareus long been an issue
  7. Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora · 26s At Ravens/Bills, have learned that Marcell Dareus has been sent home from Baltimore for violating a team rule This guy will never learn
  8. I'll be coming up from Northern VA. Since it's Saturday, I'm expecting heavy traffic. Anything good to eat in the stadium? I went to see Metallica in Philly this year and the roast pork sandwiches from Tony Luke's were awesome.
  9. 4-12 is looking like a real possibility.
  10. And the offense is getting ready to go back to pre-Rex form as well.
  11. Between 4-6 wins. I'm expecting the defense to play 40+ minutes a game as the offense will regress significantly, especially with Dennison trying to make Taylor into a pocket passer.
  12. I'm watching the game right now on NFLN, I'm noticing the Eagles using RB's in pass protection (had a nice stuff on Lawson), but I haven't the Bills offense do this so far. Also, with pass protection being as bad as it is, there's no way Taylor should be lining up directly under center and taking seven step drops. He either needs to take three step drops or be in shotgun as the right side of the O-line can't hold up their end. I'm hoping Dennison is staying vanilla for the preseason and he doesn't want to show much, but if this continues into the regular season, the Bills are in big trouble.
  13. Amen! The Bills have been averaging around 6-10/7-9 for so many years now and it's gotten them nowhere.
  14. The Bills have not had a real franchise QB since Kelly retired. These moves today along with trading back with the Chefs are setting the team up to move in up in the draft to get a franchise QB that they have been desperately missing for so long.
  15. IMO, I like the moves. The Bills now have two 1st round, two 2nd round and two 3rd round picks next year. You can bet the Bills are going to try and move up in the draft to select a QB, so theyll have plenty of ammo to do so.
  16. With having an extra pick in the first three rounds next year, it looks like the Bills are definitely going to use some of those picks to move up in the draft to select a QB.
  17. If they can do a deal for a player like how Whaley did with the Colts for Hughes, then the Bills should go for it. Otherwise I agree, let him recover and then see how he does.
  18. I hope the coaches demoted Ragland in hopes to motivate him to play better. Otherwise, Beane better start calling teams about a possible trade.
  19. Thanks again for all the detailed reports from camp! I had a good time visiting that part of the country. I'm not sure how far away Boise is from Rexburg, but they have a drive-thru bear park called "Yellowstone Bear World" in Rexburg. If you do the curator tour, you can throw down food to bears from inside a truck. Also, if you pay extra, you can bottle feed bear cubs. Spaces and time are limited for feeding the bear cubs, so you would want to reserve those in advance.
  20. Welcome to Buffalo! The Bills have been missing a WR of your caliber since Eric Moulds.
  21. Sure, I'll get right on that! I'm sure I can get that info from the very robust analytics department that Russ Brandon promised to deliver.
  22. Just seems every time a GM/coach tries to downplay an injury, it always turns out for the worst. I hope I'm wrong and Cordy is fine, but if he's been having foot issues all offseason, I expect him to have problems with constantly having to use his foot throughout the regular season.
