We're split here. I'm glad we traded Peters, while there are a bunch that think it was a wrong move & we should of broke the bank on him. Bottom line, the trade is over. Only time will tell if the trade is a good one by many factors. Will Peters be a dominating LT in Philly? If so, how long will he play at that level? Will Peters hold out in Philly in a few years and pull the same antics with the Eagles as he did with us? Who will we get with those 3 draft picks? How well will those draft picks turn out? Will the 3 draft picks eventually be worth lesser, equal or greater than the play we could have gotten from Peters?

Sorry, but I disagree with you. The Bills were doing their best to wrap a deal with Lee Evans last year. Peters was not returning anyone's phone calls from the front office last year, so he was being a douchebag. At least 6 players got rewarded for their hard work, Peters would of had another deal but he decided to play hard ball.

A request: Please share your take on the Peters trade
Jerry Jabber replied to TimGraham's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm glad the Bills made the trade. I just wish they would have got a 1st & 3rd round pick this year. I just hope the Bills address the DE, TE & OL positions with their first 3 picks. Thanks Tim & keep up the great work! -
Peters was rewarded from his rookie contract and would have been rewarded with another. The Bills are not like the Sabres and wait until a players contract is over to negotiate a new one. Schobel, Evans, Kelsay, McGee, Parrish & Stroud all got new deals by playing hard and showing up to work. Yes, this situation sucks, but it happened so it's time to move on.

Okay, so what would you have done...caved in and paid him $11.5M a year? He held out already, what makes you think that in a few years when some other LT is making more money than him, don't think he'll holdout again? Yes, we developed him and made him into the player he his, so that means we have to keep him when he underperforms, doesn't show up for work and mysteriously misses games at the end of the season? Yes, it sucks losing him, but you can't keep a player when his expectations are unrealistic and doesn't want to be here.

IMO, since Peters didn't get a new deal during his holdout, he was either going to force the Bills to pay him what he wanted or force the Bills to trade him. I don't think this move is going to destroy the O-Line like many think. I think the Bills will move Walker back to LT, draft a O-linemen and have the new guy and/or Bell play the right side until either one can step up and play well at LT. I think this will take a year or two until Walker is back at RT. Walker played very well at LT vs the Seahawks, let's see what he can do all season long. Yes, it sucks to have to switch up the O-line line again, but we can't let players hold this team hostage because they want more money.

The Bills already rewarded Peters by giving him a new contract (after his initial rookie contract) which paid him $3 mil a year. If Peters was unhappy about the $3 mil a year, he should have been a man and talked to management about it, instead of not showing up to work and not talking to his teammates.

At best, a 5th round pick, nothing more for Kelsay. Kelsay is a 2nd or 3rd stringer, not a starter. If Schobel doesn't have a better year this year, then we should cut or trade him and get rid of his $8.7M a year contract.

Dominic Rhodes signed for 2 years

I like the move. IMO, Fred Jackson will get a new contract by the start of the season. I think the Bills FO are saving their money for their draft picks first, then will deal with Jackson. -

The Eagles will pay him, but he'll holdout again when he sees someone making more money than him in 2-3 years. PHUQ PETERS!!!!!!

I'm glad his ungrateful azz is out of here. He's an ungrateful piece of sh@t!!!! If it's wasn't for us, he'd be out of the NFL already. If anyone disagree's, answer this...how many 340lbs Tight End's are there in the NFL? His holdout hurt the O-line big time last year. Peters was a cancer and I'm glad he's gone.

I agree with you about his style of play. I was hoping they would try and trade Schobel, that way we could dump his huge salary and get something in return for him. In '07, Schobel had 6.5 sacks. Last year, the Bills FO thought process was, if they got better DT's, that would free up the DE's. Well, the only one creating consistent pressure last year was Stroud, not our DE's. If Schobel doesn't rebound this year, then it's time to get rid of him.

I'm hoping Schoebel will have a comeback season this year. But if he continues to play the way he did the last 2 seasons (granted he was injured last year & only played 5 games), then it's time to cut Schoebel & his huge contract loose and look for better options at the DE position. When you're playing against Brady twice a year, we need all the pressure on him as possible. Otherwise, we'll continue to lose to the Pats twice a year.

Travis Henry plea agreement
Jerry Jabber replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
BILLINGS, Mont. - Former NFL running back Travis Henry has reached a plea agreement in a federal drug case. In court papers filed Tuesday, Henry's attorney, Harvey Steinberg of Denver, said his client and prosecutors had reached an agreement. However, the filing does not say what charges Henry intends to admit to. U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull scheduled a change-of-plea hearing for April 16. Henry, 30, a former Denver Broncos player, and co-defendant James Mack, 29, were arrested in Sept. 30 in the Denver area. They were charged with conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to distribute, two counts of possession with intent to distribute and distribution of cocaine. Prosecutors allege the two had plotted to supply at least five kilograms of cocaine to customers in the Billings area. They were arrested in an undercover operation after a traffic stop in Montana led to the arrest of an associate. Mack, of Bow Mar, Colo., has pleaded not guilty and his trial is scheduled for April 27. The court has set an April 6 deadline to file any plea agreements. Henry, of Frostproof, Fla., played one season with the Broncos on a four-year, $22.5 million contract before he was released in June 2008. He was with the Tennessee Titans in 2005-06 and had played the previous four seasons for the Buffalo Bills, earning Pro Bowl honors in 2002. Henry played his college football for Tennessee. -

RUMOR: Big curveball coming in with our first pick

You're a day late with the April Fools jokes. -
I got a response from Chris Brown (BB.com) and he said that the chances of Hargrove rejoining the Bills are slim & none.

I agree with your post 100%

Vick & his brother are both pieces of sh@t. I hope he gets banned from the NFL. I understand that people make mistakes and should be given a second chance, but not all mistakes can be forgiven. What Vick & his cronies did was brutal & disgusting, plus Vick lied his ass off to Roger Goodell & Arthur Blank. What a great role model Vick is for kids?! So what, he has a ton of talent, but so does Travis Henry.

I think Mike's brain has been infected by rabies from one of his dogs. Like the author said, the league minimum for his years in the NFL is what he'll likely get.

Top 10 Biggest 1st Round Draft Busts
Jerry Jabber replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cincinnati & Detroit have had the worst luck in the past. This is a little off the topic, but the biggest boneheaded move of all-time had to been when Mike Ditka traded all of his draft picks that year, plus the following years 1st round pick to the Colts for Ricky Williams. What a waste for the Saints!
