Buddy's 2nd draft results with the Chargers
Jerry Jabber replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is something Dickie J could not figure out. Get good, multiple pass rushers and the INT's will come. Perfect example of that was yesterday's game...need I say more?! -
Buddy's 2nd draft results with the Chargers
Jerry Jabber replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
go my god?? There will be a trillion mock drafts & guesses as to who the Bills will take this year in the draft, but no one knows for sure who Nix & Gailey will take, which I why I posted the Chargers draft selections from Nix & co 2nd season with the Bolts. I'm not saying Boss Hogg & Cooter will draft exactly the same, but it doesn't hurt to take a look at who Nix, Butler & Smith drafted back then (I just hope Boss Hogg doesn't draft a DB in the first round). -

Here's who the Chargers (Butler, Smith & Nix) took in their 2nd year in San Diego: http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/draft/teams/_/team/sdg/year/2002/san-diego-chargers I really hope Nix doesn't draft a DB in the first round. -
I knew we were in trouble today when I saw Brohm starting. Going into the game, he had 0 TD's in the NFL (including preseason). Today he threw a TD, but it was to the Jets.

For those who want to go all defense in the draft...
Jerry Jabber replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even with Dickie J's Tampon 2 defense, our run defense & pass rush SUCKED!! This year it got worse with trying to switch to the 3-4. Brady, the top QB in the division (also top QB in the conference and the entire league) has had all day long for years to pass on us. If the Bills are ever going to beat the Pats, let alone seriously compete with them, the Bills need multiple players that can constantly put pressure on him. Plus, the Bills seriously need to do something about the run defense, this year it was absolutely horrific!! -
with the 3rd pick in the NFL Draft.....
Jerry Jabber replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not always. Joe Montana, a 3rd round draft pick took the 49ers to 4 Superbowls and won all 4. Tom Brady, a 6th round draft pick took the Pats to 4 Superbowls and won 3 (and looks to be on his way to a 5th Superbowl). While the Manning bros were both first round draft picks, combined they went to 3 Superbowls on won two. Granted every Bills fan would love even one Superbowl victory, it's not essential to have a first round QB all the time. For every Manning (Peyton & Eli), and Rivers there are a bunch of Achilies Smith, Jamarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch, Matt Leinhart, Brady Quinn, JP Losman type QB's out there. Granted the Bills need a franchise QB and a whole bunch of other positions as well. If the Bills don't get some serious pass rushers that can put constant pressure on Brady, we're never gonna beat the Pats as long as Brady is in a Pats uniform. -

Glad it's over! Boss Hogg & Cooter have a lot of work to do in the offseason. -

The next news that will make me happy is Terry Pegula as the new owner of the Sabres. -

It should make the masses happy that the Bills lost today & will get a higher draft pick. -
No, I don't want other teams trash!!

We can thank good ol' Marv & Dickie for screwing that one up
-
Sounds about right. I'm wait for Kelly the Fair to come in to talk up & defend Evans and say what a huge difference the Bills would have made if he was playing (regardless of the 7 turnovers).

HOLY BUTTS KICKING BATMAN!!!!
Jerry Jabber replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Good question, lol! We'll find out next week. I just want to forget this game already. -
The only positive thing coming out of thie game, was Steve Johnson going over 1,000 yds receiving. Other than that, the Bills were beaten badly today. In a way, I'm glad the Bills lost the way they did at this time of the season, that way it shows Nix, Whaley & Gailey that they have a lot of work to do to compete with not only the best team in the division & conference, but probably the best team in football. Boss Hogg & Cooter said earlier in the year that this team is not that far off, well compared to the Pats and how the Bills played today, they're really far off.

Brohm should start last 2 games

What a horrible idea! -
I don't get why people are knocking Gailey for having an open competition not only at QB, but at all positions. With the QB position, did anyone seriously consider Jauron a good developer of QB's? Gailey gave his QB's a fair shot. Trent Edwards is a perfect example of guys who look great in training camp & preseason, but fail miserably when it counts in the regular season. There are tons of Trent Edwards & Chad Jackson types in the NFL. If Jauron was still the coach, Hardy would still be the #2 WR, Steve Johnson might be the 5th WR, Maybin would be starting, A. Moats would be on the practice squad, and D. Nelson, D. Jones & N. Roosevelt would have been preseason cuts.
-
I like that the 2010 Bills are not blowing 4th quarter leads like they did during the Jauron era. This team is playing hard for 60 minutes. Also, Chan has gotten rid of the players he feels can't make a difference on the team. Both Chan & Buddy have stated they are always looking to upgrade their team and are true to their word by constantly bringing in new players (especially on the O-line). I like that Chan recognizes the O-line has to get better in the run game, IMO once we get more dominating players on the O-line, the Bills will be serious contenders in the NFL. Once the Bills can get Jackson and Spiller in open space, they will do some serious damage to the opposing team. I give Chan an A so far.

You're right, this guy is a non-stop excuse machine. I'm not willing to say all of that about Evans, but at this point, I'd say Evans is a #3 WR at best. -

You can keep the excuses coming all day long, but there's no denying Evans had one of his worst statistical performances this year, but yet Fitz is having one of the best stats for a Bills QB's in over 8 years. I knew you were going to use the Trent Edwards excuse, so let's see what our run game does this week. If it's similiar to yesterday's game, then you might have a valid point, but if the Bills run game is more successful, then your point about Evans is absolutely wrong. -

Jerry Jabber replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So now it's Trent's fault, not Evans? I thought Evans commanded double teams and opened up the run game? I just proved you wrong with all those stats. I proved to you that the Phins have one of the best defenses (especially against the run) and you still have blinders on. Why don't we regress and bring back Losman, just so your favorite player Lee Evans can finally start playing well again. Admit it, you're an obsessed Evans fan! Very average year...give me a F!@KIN' BREAK!!!! -
New England, so what's it gonna be this time?
Jerry Jabber replied to McD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's hard to say. The Pats always play their best football in the 2nd half of the season. I'd love for the Bills to finally end the losing streak to the Pats, I'm so sick of losing to them twice a year. -

Jerry Jabber replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Evans having a very average year? You are really in love with Evans. This year in 12 1/2 games played, Evans has 37 receptions, 578 yards and 4 TD's, so that's 2.96 Rec's per game, 46.24 YPG and 0.32 TD's per game, so that's very average to you? How about last year when Evans had T.O., 44 Rec, 612 yds & 7 TDs, that was 2.75 rec's per game, 38.25 YPG, and 0.44 TD's per game. I don't know if Evans decided that once he got the big contract extension that he decided not to play as hard, maybe he's tired of losing, maybe he's upset with the Bills for letting go of his buddy Losman, maybe he's a one trick pony (a deep threat) or a combination of the above, but one things for sure, Evans' production has dropped big time after his contract extension, there's no denying that. Also, with Evans taking double-coverage as a deep threat and opening up the running game, I'm not buying it anymore. I hate to give credit to the Dolphins, but their defense, especially against the run has improved a lot this year. So far after 14 games, the Phins D ranks at #4 with 298.0 YPG, rank 6th against the run at 96.6 YPG and 6th against the pass at 201.1 YPG. In the season opener, with Evans as the #1 WR, the Bills offense had 166 total net yards, with 50 of those from the rush. Of those 50 yards, F. Jackson had 4-19, Lynch 3-13, T. Edwards 2-12, Spiller 7-6. Yesterday, without Evans, the Bills had 282 Total net yards, with 71 coming from the rush (21 more yards without Evans in the lineup). Of those 71 yards, Jackson had 15-36, Fitz had 3-19 and Spiller had 9-16. So your argument about Evans opening up the run game is invalid. So what's the excuses going to be now... -

I agree. I think "Kelly the Fair" is either a relative of Evans, the Lee Evans fan club president or an obsessed Evans fan. -
There would finally be a meaningful game that I would want to watch on Thanksgiving.
