  1. Good post and all great points.
  2. Wow, who pissed in your cornflakes? Tell me, what GM has hit on every single draft pick they ever made? IMO, Modrak came in with Donahoe and should have been fired with Donahoe. The Bills have been filled with would of's, should of's, could of's for years. If Ralph didn't fire Bill Polian, the Bills would of... If the Bills wouldn't have put Rob Johnson in the wild card game vs the Titans, the Bills could of... If the Bills would have drafted McKinnie, Ngata, Revis, Oher/Matthews/Orakpo instead of Mike Williams, Whitner, Lynch and Maybin the Bills should of... All of it happened, but yet we still follow the Bills.
  3. Kind of sounds like Haynesworth a little bit. IMO, if you're getting paid by an employer, you do whatever job it is they want you to do, not do whatever it is you want to do. I'd rather have a hungry 6th rounder who's willing to do whatever is asked of him and whatever it takes to succeed, than a spoiled 1st rounder or a supposedly football star (Haynesworth) anytime.
  4. "I feel like it's all getting better," Maybin said. "The counters and all those moves you use to offset your speed, you have to still play within the continuity of the defense. If you have to maintain outside position, you can't take an inside move and you can't counter inside. With a lot of that stuff, I have to kind of shackle my game a little bit to play within the scheme of the defense and what we need out there, which is we need everybody to play technically sound. So when we do get a little bit of freedom out there, I do like to go to my arsenal of moves and try to throw some things together that guys haven't seen before." He was criticized by Gailey in that same article for needing to know exactly where to play and how to play the run." If Maybin would counter more to the inside, he would have a better chance of getting to the QB. But according to Maybin's quote, he doesn't like to counter to the inside.
  5. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2010/12/14/1875879/bills-te-shawn-nelson-will-miss-remainder-of-season Nelson only had 3 catches for 25 yards this year...DAMN!!! I wonder if he will be cut loose in the offseason?
  6. Great post!! Thanks for the list of players the Bills picked up. After looking at all the players the Bills picked up, it shows they are really trying to improve this team. Like others have said, it does look like Nix & Whaley are bringing in a lot of players for tryouts. Most people knew going into the season, that this year would be one long pre-season for the Bills as Nix, Whaley & Gailey would use this year as a long evaluation period for the players on the team. I expect the Bills to have a good amount of turnover as players the FO/coaches feel won't work out will be cut loose.
  7. It definitely looks like the Bills are bringing in a lot of guys in for tryouts. I'm glad to see it. Gailey did say they're always looking to to improve and upgrade the team and he's living up to his word. What I like about Nix & Gailey, is that they are quick to get rid of the players that aren't working out (Like Trent Edwards & Cornell Green).
  8. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2010/12/14/1875470/report-bills-to-sign-ol-colin-brown-former-chief-and-raven With Cordero Howard most likely going to IR, looks like the Bills are trying to add to their O-line with Colin Brown. Brown is 6'8" 325 lbs. While Brown has played Guard, he sounds like he would be a good fit at Tackle. Also, Chad Rinehart (who was just activated from the practice squad) impressed Gailey with his play on Sunday and will be the starting RG this Sunday. I have to give credit to Nix, Whaley & Gailey for picking up players that can be effective while they are losing their starters to injury. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2010/12/13/rinehart-to-start-at-rg/
  9. IMO, Fitz has been improving and with more time, will continue to improve. Remember, Fitz was getting reps with the 2nd team in training camp & through the preseason. He was the backup to Trent Edwards for the first 2 games of the regular season. Also, Bills do not have a true #1 WR and don't have a solid pass-catching TE. So, with all of that, I'd say Fitz is doing very well with the tools he has to work with. It's unknown at this point if Easley can become the Bills #1 WR or if Steve Johnson can, but I'd like to see what Fitz and Gailey can do once the Bills have a real #1 WR & a good pass catching TE in place.
  10. The 2010 Bills are not blowing 4th quarter leads like during the Jauron era. The Bills are playing their best football in the 2nd half of the ball games.
  11. Excuses, excuses, excuses....
  12. Enough of making up excuses for Evans. This year and part of last year, he's had a QB that can spread the ball, plus a #2 WR to take pressure off of him, but Evans is still underproducing.
  13. I hope Florence gets resigned. I like Youboty, he does make plays when he's out on the field on healthy, but his main problem is that he can't stay healthy. IMO, the Bills bigger priority on defense is getting better players on the front 7. I hope eventually they do get a shutdown corner to replace McGee (or if it's McKelvin), but I'd rather see a dominating pass rusher first.
  14. My vote is for "Yes and he should be cut in the offseason". I will admit, McKelvin does has talent, but he is way too inconsistent and has cost the Bills numerous games over the last 2 years with his reckless style of play. Today, he had three costly gaffes: Going for the INT instead of swatting the ball away, the fumble on the kickoff deep in our zone and the pass interference penalty on an overthrown ball in the end zone. I don't ever want see McKelvin handle another kickoff or a punt return ever again. I hope McKelvin gets benched and Youboty takes his place.
  15. I forget, was McKelvin responsible for 14 points or 21 points against? First, it was terrible coverage on the Rice TD, second, was his fumble on the ensuing kickoff, third, his pass-interference penalty on an over-thrown ball in the end zone which put the ball at the 2, instead of it being 4th down. I don't ever want to see him take another kickoff or punt return in a Bills uniform EVER AGAIN!!! I hope McKelvin gets benched and Youboty takes his spot. McKelvin is too inconsistent and his reckless style of play has cost the Bills numerous games over the last 2 years. Is it safe to call McKelvin a bust yet...?
  16. In the 2nd half, the announcers kept mentioning about Rapelisbergers right ankle non-stop. It was almost getting to the point of the Bills/Pats game when Bruschi came back from his steroid induced stroke.
  17. Congrats to Alex Carrington in getting his first NFL sack, and helping K. Williams finish off Rapelisberger for Williams' 2nd sack of the day. Looks like D. Edwards is out for a while (most likely, the rest of the season), so Carrington should get more playing time. Hopefully, with Carrington getting more experience, this will help in his development and maybe he'll get a shot at starting next season.
  18. I'll be honest, I've been an Evans basher and this post is more of the same. After the last few weeks, with the emergence of Steve Johnson, I've been giving credit to Evans for still posing as a threat and getting coverage away from Johnson, D. Nelson & D. Jones. Today, Evans was terrible. Evans couldn't beat single coverage, dropped passes, only had 1 rec for 9 yards, and lost a fumble. While I do give him credit for recovering Jackson's fumble and making key blocks on the Jackson 65 yard TD, I still think the Bills need a better option at the #1 WR position. Evans is getting paid way too much, too be producing the kind of numbers he's getting. I do like the direction Gailey the offense pointing. I do hope Gailey gets a #1 WR and a pass catching TE. Add in a solid Tackle and I think the Bills will be set on offense. I don't know if Steve Johnson can become that #1 WR next year. Plus, there's also Marcus Easley waiting in the wings, so the Bills have some unknowns still. IMO, I hope Nix trades Evans in the offseason.
  19. I agree. Chan has these guys competing with the top teams in the league and are just coming up short, compared to getting blown out. IMO, add a pass catching TE & another tackle, and we should be set on offense.
  20. It seems Johnson is streaky, he didn't play good vs the Lions, but rebounded strongly vs the Bengals. Hopefully he'll rebound again and have a strong game next week . While it sucks to lose, no one should be down on the Bills. Most people expected the Bills to get their butts kicked, but they almost beat another tough team in the NFL (again).
  21. Damn!!! So close! This is the season of should of, could of, would of....
  22. I hope Stevie is okay!
  23. Go Action Jackson!!!!
  24. Not only can't Evans catch a ball in key moments, he fumbles the ball away.
  25. Carrington has his first sack before Maybin. It would have been nice to see Maybin get his first sack as well.
