  1. Bernard Pollard = Patriots Killer Injured Brady a few years ago Injured Welker a couple years ago Just injured Gronkowski All of Pollard's hits on these injuries have been clean.
  2. I'm hoping for a Harbaugh Bowl as well, with the Ravens winning. I want to see the Ravens beat the Pats just as bad as they did a few years ago in the playoffs.
  3. You're completely missing my point. I never said you're not entitled to win 100% of heart stopping finishes either. NoSaint made a point that the Pats lost 3 games by 15 points, so by that point, I made my comparison that the Bills lost 5 games by 23 points. It doesn't mean that the Bills should have won those 5 games, which would have made them 11-5. But it also doesn't mean that the Pats should have won those 3 games either, which would have made them 16-0. Bottom line, the Pats did not beat anyone this season with a winning record. Close does not count, which was my point by listing those 5 games that the Bills played. If the Pats beat the Ravens on Sunday, then it will be the first time this season the Pats have beaten a team with a winning record. I don't want that to happen, so GO RAVENS!!! I didn't know that. Thanks for bringing those up! I'm not saying the Pats can't beat a team this year with a winning record or win the Superbowl. They have a great offense, but their defense is holding them back. I'm rooting for the Ravens and hope they kick the crap out of the Pats in Foxboro!! After the Pats beat the Bills 56-10 at the Ralph on a Sunday night (where the Pats went for it on every 4th down) I want the Pats to lose every single game they play. I don't want to see them in another Superbowl...EVER!!!
  4. I agree about the "would have, could have, should have". You can look at that with player decisions, draft picks, play calls, etc... After getting burned 3 times by the Bills over the past 12 years with great starts (2003, 2008 & 2011), and missing the playoffs 12 years in a row, I think a lot of us have either lost or are losing any type of good expectations with the Bills.
  5. NoSaint said "To be fair, they lost 3 games, by 15 total points" (referring to the Patriots). That's when I showed the scores of the close games that the Bills lost. My point was, the Pats have only beaten 1 team with a winning record this year (The Broncos). But, with the Broncos overall record, including the playoffs is 9-9, so the Pats actually didn't beat anyone this year with a winning record. If Wood, Kyle Williams, Fred Jackson and some of the WR's stayed healthy, it's possible the Bills could have won those close games as well.
  6. I judged Evans by his production in his last 2 years as a Bill and by his current production as a Raven. Stats and Potential are two different things. I think a lot of us on TBD could have done a much better job at building a team and evaluating talent on the Bills after John Butler went to SD. I sure as hell wouldn't have wasted multiple first round picks on RB's and CB's over the past decade. With playing one of the best QB's in the game (Brady) twice a year, I would have went out and got multiple pass rushers to get after him all game long, instead of having just 1 pass rusher (Schobel), or trying to have a great secondary (like Jauron tried assembling). And I sure as hell wouldn't have had the lollipop guild as my WR corps (Evans, Josh Reed, Parrish, Price). I would have had a big physical WR (an Eric Moulds type) as my #1, 1 speedy WR as my #2 (who is a deep threat), followed by WR's with some size that can outleap and outmuscle DB's. Also, I would have had 1 receiving TE. With playing in a cold weather city, you need bigger physical guys, espcially when the weather gets bad. If you want to have a smaller, speedy guys, then you that's great if you're playing in a dome or in a warm weather city. I would have heavily invested draft picks (from rounds 1-3) on both the offensive and defensive lines. If you have a brick wall for an O-line that can protect your QB and open huge holes in the run game, then you don't need to invest in a high draft pick on a RB (see Denver's RB's under Shanahan). If your defensive front 7 can stop the run, and get constant pressure on the QB, then you don't need to invest heavily (like the Bills have) on CB's in the first and 2nd rounds. There's no way in hell I would have went for the idea of the Tampa 2 defense. As far as coordinator's go, I would want someone that is experienced and has been successful, like Phillips, G. Williams, and not a "Yes Sir" type or someone that was in over their head. That's just my opinion on how I would run things, but what do I know, I'm just a fan.
  7. I could have done a much better job at building a team, than the clowns that were running the show at OBD before Nix showed up.
  8. Evans lovers will throw in every excuse in the world why Evans hasn't been successful...The QB, The O-line, the coordinators, the coaches, the other WR's on the team, but like you said, we've seen a 7th round pick (Johnson) nearly double Evans' production. The year after Evans got his contract extension (which was also the same year his buddy Losman was gone), Evans' numbers went in the toilet.
  9. Thanks for posting the article. I'm glad to hear the Governor is working on this.
  10. Are you a Patriots fan? Stats don't lie, the Pats haven't beaten anyone with a winning record this year. Yes, they've beaten several .500 teams (including Denver on Saturday, which made them 9-9), and hung in there with teams with "winning records", but I don't see the Pats winning on Sunday. The Bills beat the Pats before half the team went on IR.
  11. If we won those 5 games, then we would have been 11-5 and in the playoffs. That would have been great.
  12. Brady is going to lose to Lewis, Reed, Ngata and the rest of the Ravens D.
  13. Can we use that rationale for the Bills? If so, then the Bills lost 5 games by 7 points or less: BUF 20/CIN 23 BUF 24/NYG 27 BUF 24/NYJ 28 BUF 17/TEN 23 BUF 23/MIA 30 The Bills lost 5 games by 23 points. I will give credit where credit is due, the Pats are a very good team with a great offense. But they have a bad defense and had a weak schedule this year.
  14. Expect the Ravens to run Ray Rice down the Pats throat, which will open up Boldin & T. Smith.
  15. http://www.nfl.com/teams/newenglandpatriots/schedule?team=NE You're right. During the regular season, the teams with the highest winning record that the Pats beat were at 8-8. I'm liking the Ravens chances even more.
  16. The 49ers D is very impressive. It would be great to see our D get close to that kind of production. The last Good combo the Bills had at LB were Spikes, Fletcher, Crowell. I like Barnett & Sheppard, so if Boss Hogg can get a very good OLB either in FA or the draft, plus a good pass rushing DE, then we'll have a good defense again.
  17. Love seeing how fast the 49ers D closes the gap on the Saints WR's. Wish the Bills could do that.
  18. Whitner is having a good game. 1FF (almost 2). Why couldn't he play this good when he was in Buffalo?
  19. I'd love it if Boss Hogg could land Mario Williams, plus draft a good passing rushing DE in the early rounds. Merriman helped influence Barnett to sign with the Bills, maybe he can do it again with Williams. Having good pass rushers on each end would be great, especially since we play the Pats twice a year. I'm definitely not against the idea of dumping Kelsay & Merriman to use their salary on getting good pass rushers. IMO, Kelsay is a good situational player. He plays hard on every snap, but unfortunately is not a game changer. I also worry that Boss Hogg talks a good game, but won't be able to deliver. Boss Hogg wants to get a WR in the mold of Calvin Johnson, a pass rusher (or two), a TE, CB (maybe two) and a OT. That's a good laundry list of things to get.
  20. I agree, that was a rookie mistake on Nix's part. The Bills haven't had a good, consistent pass rush in years. Even though Schobel was good, his sacks mainly came in bunches and he could never get good consistent pressure. Plus, Schobel never had a good complimentary DE to go with. It's been painful watching the Bills D get eaten up by the opposing QB's for years now, because the QB's had all day long in the pocket. Jauron thought by having a great secondary, that would neutralize the passing game, well, that never worked, because eventually someone always got open because no one on our D could get to the QB.
  21. In 2010, Buddy Nix and Chan Gailey were banking on Aaron Schobel to transition from 4-3 DE to 3-4 OLB. Schobel mulled over retirement and couldn't make up his mind. But, at the beginning of August 2010, Buddy Nix had enough of Schobel's indecision and made up his own mind by releasing him. But, by releasing Schobel, the Bills had no one on the roster that could get a good, consistent pass rush. During the 2010 season, Nix claimed OLB Shawne Merriman off of waivers. Merriman lasted 15 minutes before landing on IR. During the offseason, Merriman and the Bills doctor's stated they solved Merriman's achilles problem, and felt good about Merriman's health for the 2011 season. That had Nix sold again. Merriman looked like he was back to his old "Lights Out" form again in the preseason, as he had back to back sacks on Jay Cutler. But, before midseason, Merriman was placed on IR again due to injuries to his achilles tendon and shoulder. Nix stated that Merriman had surgery on both injuries and plans to have him back for the 2012 season. While I agree with bringing Merriman back, I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket with him. Expecting Merriman to solve the Bills pass rushing problems at this point, given his injury history, is just pure stupidity. Granted, Nix stated he wants to bring in one to two more pass rushers, a DE that is around 6'4"-6'5", between 255-260 lbs. That sounds great if Nix can deliver. I agree that the Bills should get "TWO" pass rushers, a DE and a OLB. The Bills have two good interior linemen in Kyle Williams & Marcell Dareus. In 2011, Dareus had 43 Tackles and 5.5 Sacks, with sub-par/mediocre talent besides him (due to Kyle Williams injury). In 2010, Kyle Williams had his best season to date with 77 Tackles and 5.5 Sacks, which helped him earn a spot in the probowl. If Nix can get two good pass rushers, combined with Dareus and Williams (assuming he comes back healthy), the Bills could finally have a good defense again. With having to play against one of the best QB's to ever play the game (Brady) twice a year, you would think the Bills would have addressed the pass rushing problem years ago. It's a no brainer why the Bills haven't made the post season in 12 years, and had a 15 game losing streak against the Patriots.
