  1. After giving up this years 2nd round pick, plus 1st round picks in 2013 and 2014, is there any doubt that RGIII will be starting for the Redskins this year? With that said, you can expect RGIII to be playing with the Redskins starting offense against the Bills starting defense in the preseason game in August. When RGIII is in there against the Bills starting D, I'm expecting a beatdown similar (or worse) to the one that The Bills D did to Jay Cutler last year in preseason. If RGIII does play longer than a quarter, and is in there against the Bills backups, then I can expect to see RGIII make some plays. Most likely, the Bills starters will be in the game for 2-3 series (maybe a quarter) in the first preseason game.
  2. Last I heard he was progressing well and should be ready by training camp.,,what did you hear? Last I heard he was progressing well and should be ready by training camp.,,what did you hear?
  3. What makes me assume the Bills D will chase RGIII around, pound on him & sack him? Well, let's look at the Bills/Skins game last season. The Bills had 10 sacks in that game, Dareus was at the NT position & Kyle Williams did not play due to injury. This year in preseason, the Bills will have 2 dominant DT's in the middle (Dareus & KW), a very dominant DE in M. Williams, plus a good DE in M. Anderson. Considering how bad the Skins O-line is, plus the Bills having 4 great players up front (compared to 1 last year), is there any doubt how the Bills D will do? The only way RGIII will do anything will be with his feet.
  4. Totally missing the point. Everyone knows the starters will play limited time in preseason. My point is everyone (Espn, NFL network & the media in the surrounding DC areas) have been overly hyping RGIII. Going into the first preseason game (Redskins vs Bills), the RGIII hype is going to be much, much worse. Considering how bad the Skins O-line is, RGIII will be running for his life against the new Bills D-line, which I'm looking forward to seeing.
  5. I am looking forward to the first preseason game this year vs the Redskins. With living in the Northern VA area, hearing all the press about RGIII, plus having to watch the RGIII lovefest...excuse me...ESPN's coverage of the draft, I can't wait to see the new Bills D-line chase RGIII around. With the Redskins having such a crappy O-line, RGIII will be running for his life in his preseason debut. IMO, he'll take more of a beating than Jay Cutler did last year in preseason. I know the preseason game will be televised down here in the surrounding DC areas, but I definitely plan on muting the volume as Joe Theismann will continue his huge man crush of every Redskins player...YUCK!!!
  6. Travis Henry has nothing on this guy... http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/man-fathered-30-kids-needs-break-child-support-140439765.html The sad part about this, is this guy makes minimum wage and some of mothers only get $1.49 a month.
  7. Cutting Kelsay, Dwan Edwards, and Spencer Johnson (along with trading Fitz) would get the Bills where they would need to be for the salary cap in order to sign Brees.
  8. It would be worth it to win the Superbowl (maybe more than once).
  9. Nix has been building a championship caliber defense (especially this season). IMO, the Bills window of opportunity for success could be for 3-4 years before having to do some rebuilding. Even if Brees is signed to a short contract (such as 3-4 years), he still gives you the best option to win a Superbowl. A question for everyone that says "No" to Brees: is Fitz good enough to win a Superbowl (let alone win playoff games)?
  10. What was that all about anyway? Well, since you didn't read the post that I replied to, here it is from jboyst62: "Plus, his attitude would be a disruption to this team. His "me" first BS is pathetic. Stop with the Brees threads, he's a douche." Who gives a rats ass if Brees has a "me first attitude" & is "a douche". The Superbowl era Bills weren't all exactly "fan-friendly" during their time in the NFL, but they were winners. I think Nix & Gailey have the Bills pointed in the right direction. Yes, Brees would cost around $15-$20 million a year, but he is worth it. The Bills FO would have to do some shuffling around no doubt. Fitz would have to be included in the trade (that’s if the Saints want him), in order to free up his salary. Another pplayer this could impact would be Chris Kelsay. With the additions of Mario Williams & Mark Anderson, would the Bills consider trading or cutting Kelsay loose to save on his salary? I can’t see Kelsay as a full-time starter anymore. You can add Dwan Edwards, & Shawne Merriman to that list of players the Bills FO could save money on. Well said! Montana took the Chiefs to the AFC Championship game vs the Bills. Favre took the Vikings to the NFC Championship game vs the Bounty Hunters...excuse me...Saints.
  11. Yep, you're right, Brees is old and over the hill. I can't believe that old, over the hill QB only threw for 5,476 yards and only 46 TD's last season. In Brees' 6 season with the Saints, he's thrown for 28,394 yards (an average of 4732 yards perseason), and 201 TD's (an average of 33.5 TD's a year). Nah, the Bills don't need a QB of that caliber on their team, do they?!
  12. I'd rather have a team of pompous azzes that are winners, compared to the good character softees that Levy/Jauron wanted.
  13. Exactly!! The with defense Nix put together over the past few seasons (especially this offseason), adding Brees would make the Bills an instant Superbowl contender.
  14. Now, if there's one ex-San Diego Charger everyone would love Buddy Nix to grab, it would be Drew Brees. Brees is very unhappy with the current contract negotiations between him & the Saints, and says he will not sign the one-year franchise tag option. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d82929823/article/saints-unmoved-by-drew-brees-frustration-with-contract-talks?module=HP11_headline_stack Brees has broken Marino's passing record, and has been an elite passer in the league for years. Not only did Brees help turn the Saints into a Superbowl contender, but he helped turned them into a Superbowl champion. I know it's a pipe dream, but who wouldn't be excited about having Drew Brees as the Bills starting QB?

  16. Unfortunately, it looks like a new deal is close: http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2012/5/15/3019495/buffalo-bills-in-toronto-series-extension "It has been a few months since we were updated on the Buffalo Bills being optimistic about an extension of the team's series in Toronto, but wonder no more: Daniel Kaplan of the Sports Business Journal reported on Monday that an extension of the series appears imminent. Kaplan writes that an extension of the series could be approved by the NFL's international committee as soon as this week." I was hoping after the 5-year deal, that would have been it for the Toronto series. I understand why the Bills are doing it, but I don't like it. Even when the Bills were winning and played in Toronto last season against the Redskins, it didn't have that home-game atmosphere. Look at when Scott Chandler jumped in the stands, with only a photographer around him (and not a bunch of Bills fans).
  17. Given Merriman's injury history, I'm not expecting anything from him this season. So if he does produce anything at all, it will be a bonus.
  18. Who is #63? that guy is big
  19. Glenn looks like a Giant compared to the rest of the group.
  20. I also heard that Gilmore was considered the best CB in the league. Opinions are just like a certain body part, everyone has one.
  21. In order: 1. Superbowl XXV 2. Superbowl XXVI 3. Superbowl XXVII 4. Superbowl XXVIII 5. Bills/Jags 1996 Playoffs - end of an era, when Jim Kelly is knocked out of the game 6. Bills/Titans - The forward lateral/Flutie benched - both were B.S. 7. Bills/Steelers 2004 - eliminated from the playoffs by a bunch of backups 8. Bills/Pats - an 11 point lead blown (take a knee McKelvin) 9. Bills/Dallas - MNF - prevent defense & bad special teams cost the Bills 10. Bills/Broncos - Lost by a last second field goal, and horrible game management by Jauron & Losman
  22. Awesome!! I was stationed at Quantico from 97-00, and again from 02-05. I used to go to Jimmy's Old Town tavern in Herndon, VA before I got Direct Tv. Last I heard, the Fredericksburg chapter still watches games at Hard Times. Semper Fi & Go Bills!!!
