  1. If you're strong at RB & have depth at that position, you don't draft a RB just because the RB is the BPA available. The Pats have traded down for years and have received multiple draft picks in the process. That's what the Bills need to do if the player they want is further down the line, plus they will gain more draft picks in the process. Once the Bills become a successful organization again, FA's will want to come here again (just like in the 90's.)
  2. I'm the one that can't let it go? You're the one saying "Wait and see with Evans", "Evans doesn't suck, you haters are delusional!!"
  3. Oh boy, I just can't wait to see Evans light it up in Baltimore Bills fans waited the last few years and he didn't light it up. Ravens fans have been waiting all season long...and are still waiting. Once Evans got his contract extended, his numbers took a nose dive. Another thing with Peters, he got a mysterious injury that kept him out of the last few games in each of his last 2 years in Buffalo. Coincidence? Even though Peters is a good player, he was ungrateful and was lazy when he was in Buffalo. The Bills took him as an UDFA, gave him a shot on the O-line, gave him a good contract extension from his rookie contract, then pissed and moaned because he wasn't making the same kind of money as his other linemates.
  4. Put your spin on these stats: http://www.nfl.com/p...2506097/profile 2011 Baltimore Ravens G GS Rec Yds Avg Lng TD 8 2 4 74 18.5 32 0 In 8 games played, Evans is averaging 0.5 Receptions per game and 9.25 yards per game. Evans was targeted 4 times in the Browns game and had 0 receptions. Stats don't lie!
  5. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2011/12/28/2665846/bills-place-dave-rayner-on-ir-sign-brandon-coutu "Rayner, as you all are aware, was signed earlier this season to replace Rian Lindell, who is himself on IR with a shoulder injury. A sore pelvis has hampered Rayner's accuracy of late; he missed two short field goals in last week's win over Denver before converting on his last four kicks of the day." "Reports broke earlier this season that the Bills were keen to re-sign Lindell (13-of-15), an impending unrestricted free agent, after this season. Rayner's inconsistencies didn't do anything to change that, and it's doubtful that Coutu will be able to make his mark, either. Expect Lindell to be a priority for the team once the season is complete." Rayner sucked, so I'm glad he's gone. I have no clue how this new guy will do. I do think it will be a good move to resign Lindell to what looks like will be his final contract with the Bills. The Bills don't need another hole on the team. But, the way things are going, it looks like the Bills won't resign Stevie Johnson (creating another hole) and will need to pick up 2 WR's in the offseason.
  6. I just got the text from the Bills. I didn't see Rayner get hurt in the game. Guess those 2 FG misses landed him on IR.

  8. More excuses for Evans. It's Flacco's fault... it's Fitzpatrick's fault... it's Trent Edwards fault... it's JP Losman's fault that Evans hasn't been successful!!
  9. I have a feeling that the Bills are going to do that with Johnson and waste a top pick on a WR. I agree that the first two picks should be a stud DE/OLB. Afterwards, I hope they draft a TE & a WR.
  10. IMO, in order to build a good football team, you start by building both offensive & defensive lines. If your QB doesn't have time to throw, then it's going to be very hard for the offense to move the ball & score. If your defense can't stop the run & can't put pressure on the QB, then the defense will give up a lot of yards & points, plus be on the field a long time, giving less time on the field to the offense.
  11. I agree 100% Not resigning Greer was a major blunder by the Bills. If I remember correctly, Greer came into the league as an UDFA, so resigning him wouldn't have cost an arm & a leg, like resigning someone like Nate Clements or Darelle Revis (former 1st round picks).
  12. I completely understand about taking the BPA. Plus, McGee & McKelvin need to be replaced. IMO, if Nix can find a good replacement in the draft, like Aaron Williams in the 2nd round for example, then I'm fine with that. IMO, I just think drafting a RB or CB in the first round is a waste, given the Bills history of not resigning their 1st round RB's & CB's. IMO, your 1st round pick is suppose to be an impact player, that is on the team longer than their rookie contract.
  13. Here's two trends that I hope Boss Hogg will stop. Since 2000 the Bills have taken: 3 RB's No#1--McGahee, Lynch and Spiller plus they took Travis Henry @ 2 and also had taken Antowain Smith #1 in "97".. 4 DB's No#1--Winfield, Clements, Whitner and McKelvin, plus they developed Greer and last year took Williams @ #2... Between them that is 7 #1 picks on RB's & DB's out of 12 (2000-2011) close to 60%. It's no wonder the Bills haven't been able to develop good Offensive or Defensive lines or have improve other positions. The Bills are always replacing talent, and not accumulating it, as the Bills FO has shown they do not resign 1st round RB's & CB's, because they are too expensive to resign.
  14. The only QB Evans had success with was Losman. Losman's strength was his deep game (which is also Evans' strength), but in the short to intermediate game, Losman couldn't hit the broad side of the barn. Since Losman, Evans is now on his 3rd QB and is still not producing. In regards to Lynch, here's what Whitner had to say about him: http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/140275-whitners-comments/page__p__2344258__hl__whitner__fromsearch__1#entry2344258 "Interesting comment from Donte Whitner re Marshawn Lynch - basically that Lynch was overweight and out of shape when he played for Bills. Just one more terrible first round pick, this one courtesy of the owner himself. I know Lynch has talent, but he had a terrible attitude and was a lousy fit in Buffalo." Lynch was a problem child and a trouble maker. He was one more incident away from being suspended for 1/2 the season. I don't know if some football players hate the city of Buffalo or the organization, but it seems like Buffalo drafts some players that have a serious attitude problem, and it effects their play. Look at Trash (McGahee), he played awesome the year he battled it out with Travis Henry to become the starting RB. Once Henry was traded, McGahee played like **** for his remaining time in Buffalo. Maybin is another player that fits this scenario. Here's two trends that I hope Boss Hogg will will stop. 15. Bills fans had every excuse in the book for Evans: He hasn't had a QB to throw it to him, He hasn't had a #2 WR to compliment him, The O-line sucks, His Offensive Coordinators suck, The Offense sucks, They don't throw it enough to Evans...blah, blah, blah!!! Evans is on team #2, the Ravens, and the Ravens fans are saying the exact same things we've said about Evans: He's a one-trick pony, he doesn't run good routes, he doesn't come back to the ball & help out the QB. IMO, it was a great move by Boss Hogg to trade him. This says it all from the from the Baltimore Sun: "But at some point, Evans' odometer crossed an invisible barrier, and now it looks like the Bills robbed the Ravens."
  16. A 30 year old RB that was putting up MVP numbers. Is that a bad thing? Jackson had his best season this year before he broke his leg. This was the first season that Jackson was the starter from the beginning and he proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he belongs as a starting RB in the league. So, just because Jackson is 30, that means the Bills should trade him? Very bad idea! If Jackson can get 20-25 touches a game, and Spiller gets 10-15 touches a game, the Bills will have the best RB tandem in the league. A 30 year old RB that was putting up MVP numbers. 17. CJ has looked great the last two games and is just scratching the surface on his NFL career. But people are forgetting that Jackson was 50% of the offense. While Jackson does not have Spiller's speed, Spiller does not have Jackson's elusiveness. IMO, Jackson should be signed to a 3-4 year extension. If Jackson gets 20-25 touches a game & Spiller gets 10-15 touches a game, the Bills will have the best RB tandem in the league.
  18. I agree. IMO, he keeps getting better with each game. I hope Nix & Whaley can draft another good player like Williams (anywhere after the 1st round).
  19. Just wanted to wish everyone here on TBD a Merry Christmas!!
  20. Thanks for the update, and keep up the great work!
  21. That would be incredible if it does happen! The city of Buffalo would go nuts, along with all the other displaced Sabres fans (like me) across the country.
  22. Thanks a lot for the info! That makes a lot of sense, because we always see Jim Kelly on the sidelines during games. Plus, like you said, Kelly is very definitive when discussing the future of the Bills. I'd love it if Terry Pegula bought the Bills, that would be a dream come true. If the "succession" doesn't happen in the offseason, I wonder if or when it would happen?
  23. Here's an article from October 2010, after John Wawrow talked with Ralph Wilson. I haven't been able to find it, but I remember another article from around the same time when Ralph was asked what Bills fans should expect from the team. Ralph responded with "Pain" and "Patience". Ralph also said he expects it to take 3 years to turn around the Bills, and he didn't plan to be around for it (which led to questions of a succession plan already in place). Plus, Jim Kelly's nephew posted on his twitter account (somewhere along these lines) "I met the new man today," then deleted the comment a day later. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2010/10/12/1746725/wawrow-speculates-on-possible-bills-succession-plan Wawrow appeared on The Howard Simon Show on WGR 550 Tuesday morning (audio), and while on the air dropped the most intriguing bit of speculation I've yet heard regarding Mr. Wilson: Wawrow believes that the owner may quietly be putting together a succession plan for the ownership of his franchise. "From what I've heard in the background, and seen happening - without saying anything definitively, because I can't, because no one's actually told me anything - I have a better feeling that this team might be here longer, beyond Ralph Wilson, for a long time," Wawrow said. "I can't say that with certainty, but I get the sense there's work going on in the background that will make the transition easier. I can't really get into specifics, because I can't pin down the facts." "I'm not saying this is a guarantee," Wawrow continued. "I'm probably at maybe 65-70, 30-35 in thinking the Bills are staying here." "Given the fact that Ralph Wilson is in the Hall of Fame, and built a legacy on voting against relocation, and the fact that I know the NFL wants a market in this region - and I'm speaking to the Toronto/Buffalo corridor - I can't foresee a team moving out of this region just because it's so valuable as far as its proximity goes," Wawrow said. "I think the history is also there with the number of people from the Bills organization who are in Canton."
