  1. I was worried as well, but I was very happy with the front 3's performance today. Hopefully K. Williams can come back close to 100% this year.
  2. To start the game today, Dareus was officially listed at NT. During the game I saw him lined up at NT and at DE as well. By far, this was Dareus' best game as a pro, as he had 2.5 sacks in the game and 4 Tackles (2 solo, 2 assist). I'm not sure how many plays he was in at NT today, but he did an outstanding job. I'm also not sure if George Edwards has tried this so far this season, but once Kyle Williams is healthy, Edwards should rotate the NT, DT & DE spots between Williams & Dareus (if G. Edwards has tried this already, I apologize). I'm really hoping that Kyle Williams can get his foot healed and be the terror that he was last year. It was very exciting seeing the Bills get constant pressure on the QB today and especially 9 sacks.
  3. Thanks for the post. That's encouraging news to hear.
  4. Obviously, you're a Rob Johnson fan. You're the type that complained about Flutie's stats even though the Bills were winning games. Whether you win by 1 point or 50 points, the result is still the same. Yes the Bills D is giving up a ton of yards, but the Bills D has already surpassed their INT total already from last year in 5 games so far this season, so it's a trade off.
  5. Whether we're 5-1 or 4-2 going into the bye week, we're in good shape. While the defense is giving up a lot if yards, they're getting turnovers. The D has more INT's after 5 games than they had in 16 games last season. Don't nit-pick, a win is a win, something the Bills only did 4 times last season. Enjoy the ride folks!
  6. I didn't know the Bills had to play the Bengals and the refs yesterday? 1. I hate the "Tuck Rule". I thought the Raiders got screwed against the Pats in the AFC Championship game, and the Bills got screwed out of a TD yesterday. 2. How in the hell was Stevie's catch ruled incomplete? Even on the replay, it looked liked he had possession the entire way through. That took the Bills from 1st down in Bengals territory, to 4th down. 3. I saw at least 2 pass interference calls that weren't called against the Bengals D. 4. Our secondary sucks!!! McKelvin can't handle bigger WR's or TE's. The Bills need to upgrade the secondary big time in the offseason. 5. While the pass rush showed some life, it's still nowhere near it needs to be. The Bills need some dominating OLB's to get pressure on the QB. 6. Even though Donald Jones had a better week last week, I'm still not impressed with him. I know he is learning as this is his first real season of playing time, but he needs to get better. If not, then we'll need a better option at the #2 WR position. Even though the Bills didn't look as good as their first 3 weeks, I thought they played well enough to win. It sucks to have officiating altering the game. If the Bills can go 4-2 at the bye, then we'll still be in good shape.
  7. I'm not buying ESPN or anyone else's in the media that still has negative things to say about the Bills. The proof is in the record 3-0, the offensive stats and the improved run defense that is making teams one-dimensional.
  8. I saw that on nfl.com: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d82299890/article/lewis-says-bengals-turnaround-will-begin-this-week-vs-bills?module=HP11_headline_stack That will definitely get the Bills fired up for the game. I'm expecting a beatdown of the Bengals similar to Week 1 vs the Chiefs.
  9. I agree. I watched Brady eat up the Dolphins whenever they blitzed, so the Bills had the right game plan by keeping Brady contained in the pocket, not letting him move around or step up and by the front 7 getting their hands & bodies up to deflect passes.
  10. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2011/09/26/fitzs-last-16-mirror-kellys-best/ "Jim Kelly was 304-474 (64.1%) passing for 3,844 yards with 33 touchdowns and 17 interceptions and a passer rating of 97.6. Ryan Fitzpatrick was 327-552 (59.2%) passing for 3,841 yards with 32 touchdowns and 18 interceptions and a passer rating of 86.2." "And if Fitz stays healthy and makes all 16 starts this season he’s on pace to do the following. (Just keep in mind he’s on a torrid pace right now and maintaining it will prove difficult): 385-593 passing for 4,499 yards with 48 touchdowns and 16 interceptions." 48 TD's?! That would be unbelievable, but then again, so is this 3-0 start and a win against the Pats. I know 40 TD's would be hard to imagine, but 30+ TD's this season is more than reasonable, considering the offense's play in the first 3 games.
  11. Yesterday, on one of the post game shows, the announcer pointed out that when Wannstedt & Gailey were together in Miami, they beat the Pats 2 out of 3 times. Looks like they're 3 out of 4 against the Pats now.
  12. YPC is nothing to be worried about. Last year, the Pats ran for 200+ yards in each game and the Chiefs had 277 rushing yards as well. This year, the Bills gave up 108 rushing yards to the Chiefs & Pats, and 131 to the Raiders. That's a huge difference. Plus, the Raiders ran for over 230 yards against a tough Jets defense, so that should give you all the confidence in our run defense.
  13. I agree. I didn't get what the coaches saw in Jones, but he had a very good game yesterday. Hopefully he continues to develop and becomes an additional playmaker on this offense.
  14. I hope this prick gets a multiple game suspension. How many times is he going to get away with his dirty tactics that have injured a few of our players.
  15. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2011092502/2011/REG3/patriots@bills#menu=highlights&tab=analyze Receiving REC YDS TD LG D. Jones 5 101 0 48 St. Johnson 8 94 1 33 F. Jackson 5 87 0 38 D. Nelson 6 84 0 26 A question from Nick Mendola: "When was the last time a Bills wide-out had a touchdown in each of the first three games of a season? We’ve gotta be at Moulds or even Reed/Lofton. I emailed the Bills. Same question for tight ends and Scott Chandler." I know a lot of fans were upset by the Evans trade and only getting a 1st rounder, but IMO, it was the right move. Evans has been hurt since the preseason and didn't play today. Can you imagine both Evans & Parrish out for the Bills today?
  16. Also, gotta give props to Buddy Nix as well.
  17. I agree 100% It's been way too long since we had a home playoff game. It's long overdue. Looks like Buffalo can have to playoff teams this year. I know it's hockey pre-season, but the Sabres look good. Especially Ehrhoff, that guy is awesome with the puck!! Last year's Bills would have lost close games like last week & this week. This year's Bills have taken the next step so far.
  18. Up until today's win over the Pats, many in the media and some fans didn't take the Bills seriously. The first game of the season, almost everyone favored the Chiefs, the Bills destroyed them and held the Chiefs to 108 rushing yards. Last week, the Bills came back from being down 21-3, held the Raiders to 131 rushing yards. Today, the Bills held the Pats to 108 yards rushing, compared to giving up 200+ yards rushing in each game vs the Pats last season and intercepted Brady 4 times (which was as many INT's Brady threw for all of last season). Also, after seeing the Raiders beat the Jets by 10 points and had 234 rushing yards against the big, bad Jets, that should give fans confidence that the Bills can beat the Jets this year as well and hot a legitimate shot not just getting a wild card spot, but winning the AFC East.
  19. Good points and I agree. IMO, the Bills of 2011 are much better than the previous 8 years during the losing streak and have coaches with winning attitudes, compared to Dickie "It's hard to win in the NFL". I hope Sunday brings an end to the losing streak. Once the streak is over with, I want to see the Bills destroy the Pats in Foxboro, like the Pats did to us at the Ralph 56-10 (and went for it on every 4th down). That game was a complete embarrassment and I'd love to see the Bills return the favor to the Pats on their home turf.
  20. If the Bills can beat the Pats this year, their best chance to do it is this Sunday in their 1st division match up of the year. http://www.realfootball365.com/articles/bills/15076 "With the lone Bills victory in 2003, the Patriots outscored the Bills 192-152 in the first division games of the year. Without that lone Bills victory, the Patriots outscored the Bills 192-121. Now for the scary part, the second division games of the year vs the Pats: 2003: 31-0, 2004: 29-6, 2005: 35-7, 2006: 28-6, 2007: 56-10, 2008: 13-0, 2009: 17-10, 2010: 34-3. In that span of time, the Patriots outscored the Bills 243-36 in the second division game of the year. In every game since 2003, the Patriots outscored the Bills more in the second division game than in the first." 243-36...OUCH!!!!
  21. With McGee's health issues & age, plus McKelvin's inconsistent play, I wouldn't doubt if Nix & Co draft a couple DB's in the draft next year. The Raiders really exploited McKelvin today as Campbell constantly threw towards him and Moore ate up the secondary for 140+ yards today. At this point, I would rather see more of Searcy than McKelvin. Besides the bad secondary play today, I was very happy to see the Bills come from behind and win a close game (something they weren't able to do last year).
  22. The Bills won't destroy the Raiders by 34 points like they did the Chiefs, but they will still win by 10 points or more. Bills 31 Raiders 17
  23. http://blogs.buffalonews.com/billboard/2011/09/source-easley-has-heart-ailment.html I wish Easley the best and hope he can recover from his ailment. What a tough break for the kid.
