  1. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2011092502/2011/REG3/patriots@bills#menu=highlights&tab=analyze Receiving REC YDS TD LG D. Jones 5 101 0 48 St. Johnson 8 94 1 33 F. Jackson 5 87 0 38 D. Nelson 6 84 0 26 A question from Nick Mendola: "When was the last time a Bills wide-out had a touchdown in each of the first three games of a season? We’ve gotta be at Moulds or even Reed/Lofton. I emailed the Bills. Same question for tight ends and Scott Chandler." I know a lot of fans were upset by the Evans trade and only getting a 1st rounder, but IMO, it was the right move. Evans has been hurt since the preseason and didn't play today. Can you imagine both Evans & Parrish out for the Bills today?
  2. Also, gotta give props to Buddy Nix as well.
  3. I agree 100% It's been way too long since we had a home playoff game. It's long overdue. Looks like Buffalo can have to playoff teams this year. I know it's hockey pre-season, but the Sabres look good. Especially Ehrhoff, that guy is awesome with the puck!! Last year's Bills would have lost close games like last week & this week. This year's Bills have taken the next step so far.
  4. Up until today's win over the Pats, many in the media and some fans didn't take the Bills seriously. The first game of the season, almost everyone favored the Chiefs, the Bills destroyed them and held the Chiefs to 108 rushing yards. Last week, the Bills came back from being down 21-3, held the Raiders to 131 rushing yards. Today, the Bills held the Pats to 108 yards rushing, compared to giving up 200+ yards rushing in each game vs the Pats last season and intercepted Brady 4 times (which was as many INT's Brady threw for all of last season). Also, after seeing the Raiders beat the Jets by 10 points and had 234 rushing yards against the big, bad Jets, that should give fans confidence that the Bills can beat the Jets this year as well and hot a legitimate shot not just getting a wild card spot, but winning the AFC East.
  5. Good points and I agree. IMO, the Bills of 2011 are much better than the previous 8 years during the losing streak and have coaches with winning attitudes, compared to Dickie "It's hard to win in the NFL". I hope Sunday brings an end to the losing streak. Once the streak is over with, I want to see the Bills destroy the Pats in Foxboro, like the Pats did to us at the Ralph 56-10 (and went for it on every 4th down). That game was a complete embarrassment and I'd love to see the Bills return the favor to the Pats on their home turf.
  6. If the Bills can beat the Pats this year, their best chance to do it is this Sunday in their 1st division match up of the year. http://www.realfootball365.com/articles/bills/15076 "With the lone Bills victory in 2003, the Patriots outscored the Bills 192-152 in the first division games of the year. Without that lone Bills victory, the Patriots outscored the Bills 192-121. Now for the scary part, the second division games of the year vs the Pats: 2003: 31-0, 2004: 29-6, 2005: 35-7, 2006: 28-6, 2007: 56-10, 2008: 13-0, 2009: 17-10, 2010: 34-3. In that span of time, the Patriots outscored the Bills 243-36 in the second division game of the year. In every game since 2003, the Patriots outscored the Bills more in the second division game than in the first." 243-36...OUCH!!!!
  7. With McGee's health issues & age, plus McKelvin's inconsistent play, I wouldn't doubt if Nix & Co draft a couple DB's in the draft next year. The Raiders really exploited McKelvin today as Campbell constantly threw towards him and Moore ate up the secondary for 140+ yards today. At this point, I would rather see more of Searcy than McKelvin. Besides the bad secondary play today, I was very happy to see the Bills come from behind and win a close game (something they weren't able to do last year).
  8. The Bills won't destroy the Raiders by 34 points like they did the Chiefs, but they will still win by 10 points or more. Bills 31 Raiders 17
  9. http://blogs.buffalonews.com/billboard/2011/09/source-easley-has-heart-ailment.html I wish Easley the best and hope he can recover from his ailment. What a tough break for the kid.
  10. Hope Easley pulls through on whatever illness he has.
  11. I was just being sarcastic amongst the doom & gloomers. In all seriousness, Evans is a class act and I do wish him well in Baltimore. Today, it was great to see Fitz spread it out to everyone, especially Scott Chandler.
  12. Oh but c'mon, Evans is so good that a boot shouldn't have slowed him down?! I thought the amazing Lee Evans was the reason why the other WR's on the Bills were able to get open?
  13. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2011091100/2011/REG1/steelers@ravens#menu=highlights&tab=analyze If you look, you don't see his name on the stats, so you all know what that means...0 Rec's for 0 yards. Let's look at how the Bills offense did without the great Evans today: http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2011091104/2011/REG1/bills@chiefs?module=HP11_hot_topics#menu=highlights&tab=recap Receiving REC YDS TD LG St. Johnson 4 66 1 27T D. Nelson 4 66 0 35 S. Chandler 5 63 2 19 F. Jackson 1 5 0 5 C. Spiller 1 5 0 5 D. Jones 2 3 1 4T But wait, I thought Evans took coverage away from Stevie? I thought Evans was always getting double-teamed? I thought the Bills offense was going to suck without Evans? I can't believe the Bills only got a 4th round pick for Evans? So, what's the excuses now?!
  14. Whether or not you think Gailey is smoking a sh@t load of crack for saying he expects to win and expects to make the playoffs, I'd rather have that kind of coach compared to Skeletor, who wanted to be the players BFF and hoped to win. "It's hard to win in the NFL", Dickie J should have been fired on the spot for that comment.
  15. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2011/09/07/troup-leaves-practice/ According to Buffalo Rumblings, it appears to be a lower body injury. Hopefully it's nothing serious. I'd like to see him healthy and develop more this year.
  16. Bills 24, Chefs 14 I still love that commercial where the old man forgot to add in the "I" when painting the Chiefs logo in the endzone.
  17. If that's the case, then why are you on here? Why even bother supporting the team if you feel "It is about saving money and putting it in the bottom line, not about building a competitive team." Sounds like you're the one who is foolish.
  18. Hey crayonz, I forgot to mention the guy that has such an amazing, such a very fast first step, the smallest DE/OLB in the league, and that's Aaron Maybin. That's a perfect example of the players Nix is getting rid of.
  19. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/09/04/report-cassel-could-miss-opener-with-rib-injury/ "The Chiefs lost their second leading receiver from 2010 Tony Moeaki for the season because of an injury in the game. Their starting quarterback is also banged up. Nick Wright of 610 Sports and Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star reports Matt Cassel has a rib injury that could keep him out of the season opener against the Bills. Wright reports Cassel has a cracked rib. And that could expose one of the shakiest backup quarterback situations in the league." Things are looking very good for us on Sunday.
  20. "Your original post said they are trying to re-sign Parrish which means they chose him over Evans." They chose Parrish over Evans? Really?! When did Nix & Gailey come out and say this? When did anyone from the Bills state this? Basically, this is your opinion, not a fact. Nix & Gailey stated they wanted to give the younger players a shot, meaning players like David Nelson, Marcus Easley and Donald Jones. Evans' stats over the last 2 years don't lie. But you'll come up with a million excuses for the guy. Parrish was an afterthought in the Jauron era. Last year, before Parrish went on IR, he was outproducing Evans. The small, quick players I was referring to were the Tampa 2 defensive players like McCargo, Ellison, Corner, Triplett, Youboty, McKelvin. Jauron was fascinated with small, speedy players, didn't have the team prepared to start the season and the Bills led the league in players ending on IR during the Dickie J era. While I liked Levy a lot for his coaching abilities, his tenure as GM was absolutely horrible. First off, he hired a HC that had a miserable HC record. Second, how in the hell do you pass up on Ngata and take Whitner instead? Then, try and address the DT position and grab a "smaller, quicker" DT in McCargo? Wood is injured? When did this happen?
  21. For those that don't agree with this assessment and say that there isn't talent on this team worth resigning, and Ralph is cheap...then by your logic, the Bills shouldn't have resigned Kyle Williams, just because the Bills were 4-12 last year. So, Williams shouldn't have been resigned, plus there's no need to resign guys like Steve Johnson, Parrish, Fitzpatrick, Merriman, Wood, and Levitre. While we're at it, when it comes time for Dareus to be resigned, the Bills should just lose him to free agency. So screw keeping any good players and let's have the Bills do what Daniel Snyder does in DC every year and play fantasy football with the team, overpay over the hill free agents. So if you were the GM, you would just let young talent like Easley and David Nelson go, just to keep a guy that produced: 38 catches for 578 yards last year, and 44 catches for 610 yards the year before. That's brilliant...
  22. Huh?! You got me confused with being an Evans lover. The numbers I stated were Johnson's numbers last year, not Evans. I completely agree about your assessment on Evans and I'm sick & tired of hearing people cry that we only got a 4th rounder for him. "38 catches for 578 yards and 44 catches for 610 yards the year before" does not get you a 3rd round pick or higher. No GM in the NFL will give up a 3rd round pick or higher for those kind of numbers. With Evans' lack of production, it comes down to 1 of 4 things (or a combination of the four): 1. Once Evans got the big payday from the Bills, he packed it in and didn't play as hard since he got paid. 2. Evans is a one-trick pony and needed a QB that could throw the deep ball (meaning 60+ yards) multiple times a game. 3. Once Evans' buddy Losman was gone, Evans was upset by that and stopped playing as hard. 4. Evans was tired of playing on a losing team, lost his motivation and was not playing at the level he previously was.
